Calibration day...

Wanted to dial in my printer a lil more precise today, so I decided to test out the nickel and bridge test files from thingiverse... took 3 rounds of the nickel to dial it in, and bridge one was already dead on first print... no cleanup.. I'd say I have it close enough where it should be fine.. Guanu

Re: Schematic for Velleman MK138 Temperature Controller Boar

I agree, theres too much mis-information in this thread and people are bound to break something... let me try to clear it up for you. with the hot end, you change R5 to a 10-18k resistor... and you use the thermistor that came with the kit... for a heated bed, this is where it gets a little strange ...

Re: slic3r 0.7.2b is out with support material generation

I did one better, I recorded the print on my ustream channel, it pretty much looks like a solid block when it was done.. with the support material being about a 25% filler.

(kind of)... the support material is a cross hatch like infill, it works, but is not super easy to clean up... but it does work... which is a definate improvement... only thi...

Re: Extruder stops extruding at higher speeds - rollers slip

what are your settings in mach on the motor tuning, I used to do the same to get more speed, but I found I had to really turn slic3r down after I change the motor tuning, now I can crank out prints at 1200mm/min with infil at 2700mm/min... I know everyones mach settings are different, but its a star...

Re: extruder randomly clicks like its stuck

since I'm in the middle of a 2 hr print, I loostened up the tension hex cap screws 1/4 turn, since then its only done the stutter once, seems that I just need to find the sweet spot of tension. When I built the extruder I had to do a LOT of sanding on the gears to get them to spin smooth.. I have al...

extruder randomly clicks like its stuck

as I'm printing randomly the extruder shutters and clicks as if its stuck, if i put my finger and help the rotation along (requires very little pressure to get it going again) it goes fine for awhile... its completely random but if I leave a print unattended it can do that and stop feeding filament....
