weird ezstruder motor prob-FIXED! Gene is short for Genius!

I've really broken something. I was trying to get my lcd panel to work - it only shows white blocks, I unplugged it and unplugged the adaptor, reinstalled everything, and when that didn't work, I reset my RAMBO and reflashed the firmware. Now, my ezstruder motor turns 5-10 times as fast as it should...

Re: filastruder

that grinder is going to be Hella-expensive. I looked on ebay and real plastic shredders run 1000-10000 dollars. So I was thinking that it might be possible to make one from a kitchen machine like a food processor or a meat grinder. the plastic needs to be shredded, not chopped -- so maybe the meat ...

Re: Some cool new PLAs

makergeeks has these filaments. I've tried their glow-in-the-dark ABS and their translucent blue PLA - both are pretty good. I was thinking about ordering some flex filament from them, because I want to make a phone case. At any rate, any new, high quality filament manufacturer is worth supporting (...

Re: Why oh why can't I get ABS to stick?!

I've gotten really good results with Aquanet super hold hairspray on both PET tape and glass. Things to consider, is it drafty near your printer? I've had prints delaminate when there was a draft blowing on the print - it always curled up at a specific corner. Try slowing the print way down for the ...

Re: 3D Printed Enclosure Mounts

Very nice! I had surrounded mine with lexan held together by velcro. My printer is by a window in my very drafty 200 year old house, so it needs something. But, my way is really ugly, (not to mention unstable) Mind if I copy you?

Fan 0 gcode for layer fan?

I'm about to wire up my new squirrel cage layer fan. I know M42 P6 S255 turns on fan 1(peek), but what pin turns on fan 0?

thanks,

Yeah the temp could mean Rambo or wiring issues. The thermistor could also be an issue. Do the Orions come already calibrated?

Re: New Orion issues. Help!

Please don't give up. Believe me, I've been where you are. I had a problem, where I couldn't print out the Onyx leveling guide even for 1/2 of my heated bed. The instructions for adjusting the print radius fixed this for me. You said this: "I have found that the gap between the tip and the bed ...

Re: I can finally print a calibration cube!

This sort of thing happens w/ bleeding edge kits. I just wish it had been *more* of a problem. Then it would have received more attention and I would have looked at it sooner. SeemeCNC are great people and the Rostock is a beautiful machine and now, mine is printing almost perfectly. I just printed ...

Re: I can finally print a calibration cube!

Some of the earlier kits had qc issues. 2. Issues: 1. I got one of the first kits w/ Onyx included. It warped badly, and I fixed it by shimming(after heating it up, of course). 2. Wrong nozzle size. Kit claimed nozzle was .5mm - it was actually .71mm - this was only fixed by pulling the nozzle off a...

I had much the same problem, I ended up heating it to temp and then using washers as shim under the low side.

Re: Failure at a specific Z level

question? Is there a temperature difference? Like air currents? I had a problem with cubes delaminating in the middle when I tried putting a small personal fan (not the 25 or 30mm one, but a small people fan). If I put the fan too close (or on medium) the next few layers wouldn't stick.

Re: ABS bridging performance

A layer fan. I spent some time fooling around w/ calibration cubes, and a layer fan and slowing down on bridges makes a huge difference.

Re: Towers twist slightly.

This is similar to the problem I think I'm having. I did get a new melamine kit from Tricklaser - I still can't get a decent print. I'm considering getting new tower rails. But, I don't know where to get them from.

Thank you for your replies. I'll try to address all 3. I am going to have to take a week break, because I'm going to be away on business this week. I'm located in central NJ. Extruder and electronics work fine. I'm using ABS and have tested at temps from 215-230 (230 works best with this filament) u...

about to give up. A year and I still can't calibrate.

I am really close to despair. I have my rostock max for a year. I've taken it apart 3 times, all the way down to the screws. I thought I might have delta arm blues, so I added Tricklaser arms and body (laser cut parts). I had other issues that were fixed, but I can't print a thing. I thought my rail...
