Re: EEPROM Memory saved during firmware update?

cambo3d is correct. EEPROM values are not touched during the firmware upload process. It would be nice if the firmware had a way to "use default values" so if the wheels really come off the wagon, you've got a sane place to start again. :)

Re: Buck_weat's First RoStock Max

I would recommend using the EEPROM settings whenever possible. You should really only tweak the #defines in configuration.h for things that are VERY static, such as tweaking the DELTA_RADIUS (or whatever that's called now - I don't recall) figure to flatten the travel of the effector end. For exampl...

Re: Buck_weat's First RoStock Max

He's referring to a setting in the Arduino IDE. I wouldn't worry about it at this point. Just know that v0023 is going to look for and read/write a "main" file ending in PDE. The newer releases of the IDE look for INO _or_ PDE, but will _write_ INO unless told otherwise. From a user standp...

Re: hot end clogged with metal pieces

Yeah, you need to be VERY careful where you grab that thing. It's easier to deal with if you remove the hot end from the effector platform.

Don't feel bad though, I blew my first thermistor in half when I shorted it out against the power leads going to the resistors. :)

Re: Buck_weat's First RoStock Max

You have to load the PDE (or INO, depending on which version of the IDE you're using) file, not just the configuration.h file. Also, "gives an error" is pretty useless from a diagnostic standpoint. :D It's like taking your car to the mechanic, pointing to it and saying, "It's broke&qu...

Re: EMP killed my build

Yes, but EMP has a very, very specific meaning. Had you experienced EMP, every electronic device in your house and within some miles of the epicenter would be stone dead. (not to mention a distinct lack of living tissue within a smaller radius) You're hearing a "pop" sound in your speakers...

One thing you could also change is have the user install the end stop wires before the upper bearings and belts. I followed the instructions as written, ignoring the little blurbs saying to jump somewhere for this or that and agree with all the other recommendations so far, but I don't think that w...

Re: Bed temp too low?

I've been using a 10:1 mixture of water to Elmers White Glue. PLA sticks to that very well. I bought a cheap "spritz" bottle from RiteAid for like $2. Works fantastic.

Re: Buck_weat's First RoStock Max

The PLA problem is caused by heat creep. What is happening is that the heat from the hot-end is creeping up the barrel of the assembly and causing the PLA in the PTFE tube to swell and jam. You need to put a fan (a 25mm fan fits perfectly!) on the PEEK section of the hot end. To get PLA to stick to ...

Heat it up and use a pair of channel-locks to hold the lower section of the hot end while you remove the nozzle with a wrench.

Take care not to damage the resistors or thermistor.

You could also use a micro-stop. Total overkill, but it's a great excuse to buy a new tool. :D

Note that most micro-stop countersinks are 100 degrees. Standard flat head screws are 82 degrees.
