Re: SmoothieBoard "config" Settings...

Looking at the video, looks like the exact same setup as mine. - MAX Metal Platform - LED Light Ring - CF Arms - Prometheus (looks like it) - I've got the 16 tooth pulleys as well. I'd like to see a photo of that head setup though... You have the light ring mounted above the effector plate. As for t...

That's fantastic the Live Streaming on YouTube! Excellent! I'll Bookmark that for sure!

Did that seem to help out with the "vertical banding" issue?

Yes, I grabbed it from over in the other topic... Thanks again! I'm just curious to see what you and others have for settings, especially the ones I posted. On a side note, how is the quality of those steppers you bought? I believe you have these ones... https://www.sparkfun.com/products/10846"...

Re: Rostock Max Smoothieboard Tutorial

KAS, Could you post your "config" file and if you have one, your "config override" file(s) please? I've got several of them for the SmoothieBoard and I'm looking over them for settings like: "mm_per_arc_segment" "mm_per_line_segment" "delta_segments_per_s...

Re: Heuristic (AI) calibration for delta printers on Smoothi

I am interested, as are a couple of people I know.

On one of our 3D Printers we are testing out the latest Calibration Routines.

Do you have a SmoothieBoard at the moment that works?

Re: Smoothie support for the RoMax LCD

I too have the Full GLCD for both of the Smoothie's I'm using, however until I design a nice front mount to use the GLCD (with other controls mounted as well) I'd like to have a nice finished look to the front of the Rostock MAX v2. In the link you provided here https://github.com/cyberbsd/universal...

Well at least this way (or something similar) it's rather easy to "speak" with someone in the event of a problem.

More personable I feel.

Re: Heuristic (AI) calibration for delta printers on Smoothi

To 626Pilot, I've been working on getting a "reputable" and rather large company here in Ottawa, Ontario, Canada to be a reseller of the Smoothieboard. I don't want to mention any names as of now until things become more clear, but as of now, they currently sell and stock the BeagleBone's,...

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder

Received my NEMA 17 Geared Stepper Motor Mounts from JFettig (thank you again!) and I'm getting ready to mount it all up (two machines). However, once we pulled out the RAMBO board to put in the Smoothieboard, we looked at the "current" settings for the stock Rostock MAX v2 stepper motors....

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder

@KAS Thanks for the Thread Post. @mhackney Yes, I concluded the exact same thinking. The "tighter" these machines become via. upgrades to eliminate backlash, etc... The more prominent other "errors" appear. I've ordered the 5.2:1 Geared Stepper from within this Thread. Once it ar...

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder

OK... This is VERY important I feel. @bvandiepenbos @JFettig ... and everyone scratching their head! I hooked up Brian's Fly-N-Strude, put a NEW Hobbed Gear onto the NEMA 17 (stock) Stepper Motor, did the EZStruder "mods" that Brian pointed out and everything is flawless! Have Trick Laser ...

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder

Should have posted these earlier with the others... But anyways... This shows the "offsets" with the printable spacer(s) for each spool type of filament that I have. I think for the most part, according to what I've read up on, the "Spool Hubs" should work with everything out the...

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder

@RMLynch, the geared stepper works fine with the Flyn-N-Strude, I have one setup on my MAX machine named "KITT" My adapter plate is thinner than yours, so the motor will hang a bit farther off center, but that probably is no issue. I adjust the tension on each bungee to get extruder to si...

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder

Sounds good RMLynch, I'm planning on whipping up a batch this weekend. I have all the metal ready to go. That gear motor you're looking at appears to be the same, I think it has 4 times the torque because the rating posted on trid printing is the motor torque and the torque posted on 3dmakerworld m...

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder

I got to play with my new Haas a little today and whipped up a couple of these plates to adapt the gear motor to the EZStruder. I designed it to use the 8mm Tridprinting hobbed drive gear with the Kysan gear motor they have listed. The plate has to be that thick to center the hobbed section on the ...

Re: Pulled the Pin...

Now you can print out a new one!

Open RC has 1/8th scale buggies and truggies. As well I believe quad copter .STL's for print.

I too was into R/C cars & trucks when I was younger. I moved over to R/C aeroplanes & helicopters.

Thanks again ZakRabbit for the info! Going with 60/40.

Great service!

Re: Pulled the Pin...

Thanks forrie, Going back for some 60/40 leaded solder then. Could one not just desolder the 5xc terminals (for steppers, min/max stops, thermistors) and replace them with new soldered on Hansen Hobbies 4x, 3x, 2x pin terminals to convert over? Or would making the adapters be the better way to go? R...

Re: Pulled the Pin...

@ZakRabbit, Quick question... Did you use Lead-Free Solder or Leaded (eutectic)? Just bought a new soldering station yesterday for the Smoothieboard pins & regulator (my old one(s) were terrible) and they guy recommended Lead-Free Solder. Personally, I've never used the stuff. What do you think ...
