Re: Rostock Max V3 Build with minor mods
The bed is a constant (approx) 1 ohm resistance, which means if you double the voltage, you'll double the amps too. However, if you change your PID setup for the heaters you can still get some more power into them without crowding the limits too badly, you're just not going to get double the power. ...

Re: Underextrusion?
I printed a calibration cube (single wall) on each of my printers and measured them to get the extrusion multiplier right. Once I did the final weight of my print was within 1% of what Cura was telling me it'd be. Try printing this (http://repables.com/r/184/) and measuring the walls w/ a calipers a...

Re: Need help with Rostock Max v3 Cura setup
If you upgrade to the Cura 2.4 beta, they have an option for the circular bed too, so you don't have to guess at the edges anymore. They also have some new toys that have been making my prints come out even better. It's well worth trying

Re: Hot end doesn't reach bed.
If I were just going by the video, I'd say there's a problem with homing the printer... it looks like one of the towers is off when it homes and that's coming out in the position error... but that doesn't match your description of the problem. Still, can you get a video of what it looks like when it...

Re: Z Probe Woes
Do you have your V2 setup as a V2 in the firmware, or did you modify the V3 settings? The V2 setup is the way to go and things can get weird when you force it to a V3. Just a hunch.

Re: Dual extruder upgrade for v2
Whoops, didn't realize you were not running dual extrusion yet. My personal inclination would be to do it all at once so you're running the same hardware that we developed and tested dual extrusion on, so fewer differences when troubleshooting. Also, since you're going to have some massive firmware ...

Re: Dual extruder upgrade for v2
Couple of things for you: 1) In your firmware settings you want to set CLONE = 1 when you're setting up for dual extrusion. That does some of the extra pin mapping and other footwork needed to get this to work. 2) Cura 2.x settings are located on the SeeMeCNC slicing-profiles github: https://github....

Re: V3 Probiing Code Horizontal Radius Issue
The horizontal radius calculation is iterative and continues re-checking itself during probing until it's happy with the results with a maximum of 4 times. If you go to Advanced Settings -> Calibration Menu on the LCD while it's calibrating, you'll see it update the horizontal radius with smaller an...

Jeff, The profiles in the Cura profile directory are only for running on Cura. If you want a matter control profile, grab the one from the Mattercontrol directory. If you're gonna take cura for a spin, check out the slicing profiles here: https://github.com/seemecnc/slicing-profiles/tree/master/Rostock%20MAX/Cura The Rostock Slow profile is what you'll want to start with. I've tested it down to 0.1mm layers (on a baby groot actually) and it works great. Good l...

This almost sounds like a wiring issue. Is this a new problem, or has the printer always done this? It kinda sounds like your bed is wired to your hot end.

Re: Octopi and remote connection
You can connect from your phone, but if you're not on your own network, you'll need to setup your router to pass the traffic through to the PI. A static IP helps with this, but you could also use a service like dyn.com to have a domain name with a low refresh time to keep track of a changing IP addr...

Re: Trouble after uploading Firmware to V3
Check your hotend connections at both ends. If the I2C isn't able to initialize, that'll prevent it from booting up the whole way. Make sure the wires in your hotend whip match the diagram (I once put them in with the connector upsidedown and the order was backwards) and check your wiring to the RAM...

I didn't create it so much as grab the code and start running before the alarms went off. It's DC42's code underneath, I just took out a few steps and hardcoded some stuff specific for our printers to make it a little easier for people to use. So far it's been working great

You should be able to just run G29 and roll. It won't mess with any of the other settings that the delta calibration has already fixed.DerStig wrote:So once you run the wizard I can just run G29's when I change build plates? or do I need to run the wizard every time I want to calibrate?

Re: Rostock Max v3 calibrating script.
George, It's pretty straightforward to change the probe points. You'll want to pull the current firmware and edit the Configuration.h file to change the probe points for the V3 (Line #403 to 408). Make sure when you change the probe points that it's still probing right in front of each tower. Once y...

New firmware just dropped. Update your firmware, Run G29 to do initial calibration, then turn the octoprint plugin loose on it. Gene's plugin in available here: https://github.com/geneb/OctoPrint-Delt ... master.zip
Use at your own risk. Possibly other people's too.

I'd recommend running G29 immediately before running the plugin. That'll check for probe sensitivity problems and get them adjusted before you load eeprom and run the wizard and generally save you some rage inducing problems. Also: we've got new firmware out in the master branch today. Update to tha...

20161207 Dev Firmware
Just pushed some new firmware into the dev branch. Use at your own risk! Here's what changed from the preview dev: -Horizontal Radius now checks a maximum of 4 times when calibrating w/ G29. Re: 20161123 dev firmware
Here's the nuts and bolts: - The new probing routine (G29) has a bunch of incremental changes, fixes, and optimizations in it. Running G29 to calibrate will get you better results than the old probing routines. - The old probing gcodes (G69, G68, G30) are still there and they still work but they are...
