Re: Slicers / Support

KISSlicer models the supports, still playing with it trying to learn what all the display/paths indicate.

Re: new he280 hotend issues

By default anything below 18 will shut down due to potential print quality issues. You will need to either heat the room or adjust your configuration.ini file to allow a lower temperature. Example below, I set mine to 5 rather than 18. #elif PRINTER == 5 // Rostock MAX v3 w/HE280 #define MIN_EXTRUDE...

Re: Slicer Tests on the Rostock MAX V3

Thanks, that makes a lot more sense. Amazing how a preconception of what a term is can actually keep you from being enlightened using an internet search.

Re: Cura Version?

Thanks, I will dig around a bit more and see if I find anything. I have a particular part I want to print, and was going to see if any particular slicer did better with.

Re: Slicer Tests on the Rostock MAX V3

Thanks, did the firmware in the printer change from fixed to relative or is the setting not used on the Rostock Max firmware?

Re: Cura Version?

Based on that, perhaps I should ask how to use the profile on a clean install of Cura. There are no printers that appear to be delta based to select initially. There is a subfolder full of *.json files that appear to be printers, but format doesn't match the profile you posted.

Re: Slicer Tests on the Rostock MAX V3

It appears that the kiss profile has a printers copy.ini and printers ini file. The firmware setting for the max is different between the two files, can you clarify?

Thanks!

Slicers / Support

Do any of the slicers model/display in the software what it will do for supports and adjust as you make support material configuration changes?

Re: DEF but both thermisters reporting OK in firmware

Well, I got through to MatterHackers tech support, and they immediately said check/plug the hot end plug better. They have had multiple reports of these symptoms. And sure enough, unplugging and plugging in the hot end better resolved the issue. So all is working, now to figure out the nuances of pr...

Yes, cold. No power to heater, no recent print. (ran the unmodified version off of the SDCARD) with no USB connected).

Re: DEF but both thermisters reporting OK in firmware

Argh! Temp issue fixed, but now the calibration script tries to send the print head through the x axis tower! 1. re-downloaded the firmware, confirmed printer and motherboard settings and min temp and reuploaded. No help. 2. re-downloaded the calibration script, reran. same issue. 3. Put the temp ba...

Re: DEF but both thermisters reporting OK in firmware

No joy, 13.9c on the nozzle then def it goes. Is there a way to confirm the firmware change took place? I did an eeprom_clear that said successful, the uploaded the change and after a power cycle it still boots....

Re: DEF but both thermisters reporting OK in firmware

Ok, I just found a min. 18 setting in the configuration.h file in arduino. I am going to set that lower (10) and test. I think the thermistor is reading low. 18c is 55f and my room is running 70f right now.

DEF but both thermisters reporting OK in firmware

Well, that didn't last long :) After a great first evening and night of printing, I now get DEF for my temps. According to the forums and the seemecnc website this is commonly a thermistor connection problem. HOWEVER, seemecnc.com tells us to turn on the printer and just prior to going to DEF read t...

Re: SE Washington

Notes: Ordering Kaptan tape was annoying, but it didn't slow me down. Only because I stressed one of the spring arms in a trolley while taking apart to fix.... so I waited for those replacement parts. I was missing a couple screws and had extras on others. I hope they will start throwing in a screw ...

Re: Or1g1nal1ty and his slow, plodding build!

I would recommend doing the soldering on the plate, setting the base to one side and moving on. Order the tape from amazon the appropriate shipping speed for your build. It was not included in the build. If you feel it should have been included, you may want to drop a suggestion to SeemeCNC as I did...
