Nope.
As long as the platform is level, and the whole thing isn't heavy enough to flex the rest of the system, its movement is fully constrained by the arms.

Re: One rumbling stepper
I've got a machine with a Duet that has a "sticky" tower as well. In my case, I think that the issue is the belt idlers grabbing the sides of the belt and working like a bicycle brake on it... I designed the plastic pieces that hold the belt idler in place, and got a little over eager with...

If you install arms that are a different length than the factory arms, yes. Luckily, it's an EEPROM setting that you can change without much headache.

Re: BuildTak, GeckoTek, ZebraPlate, FabLam, what are the cool kids using?
Correction... Instead of changing the max probing sensitivity, you need to change the actual sensitivity in the printer settings below. (for whatever printer type you have selected above) Interestingly, lowering the sensitivity value seems to make the probe more sensitive. I lowered mine from 20 to ...

Re: V3 Probiing Code Horizontal Radius Issue
The horizontal radius only probes the center and a point beneath the rear tower. As others have mentioned, it will do this multiple times until it returns a value that's in spec, and that's it.

I have the same setup. E3d v6 with 713 plate but I can't find a good layer fan for it. Can some one help? I made this one. http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1975396 I think the fan mounting tabs are the same. I intend to make a revision that is angled up a little bit to clear the glass clips better....

Re: Rostock Max v3 upgrading to e3d v6 hot end?
I'm very pleased with the V6. I've used them exclusively for quite a while now. I still wish that the wiring was a bit cleaner on my setup, but that's my own fault, and it's been working just fine regardless. I had the pleasure of meeting Carl on more than one occasion. What a nice guy. I was looking forward to seeing him again at MRRF. I'm glad that he made it out last year. He will be deeply missed. Carl was the first one to welcome many of us to the forum and make us feel included. He was also a watch...

Re: BuildTak, GeckoTek, ZebraPlate, FabLam, what are the cool kids using?
This seems to be a fickle thing to repeat. Originally, I was having the probe point on the Y tower press too hard and disjoint my effector. It happened over and over and would never get past that point. About a week later, full calibration worked without an issue. Today, XYZ all work for the endstop...

Re: Guide for setting acceleration and jerk. Does one exist?
I thought that I might be fighting vibrations in my belts, because I tightened them less than usual the last time. So, I tightened them more than usual. I can pluck a note on them, and they all ring the same note. But, this didn't make any difference at all when comparing the parts side by side. So,...

Re: Wind generator?
What would be the best material for something that has to survive sun, wind, bugs, and precipitation, for years at a time? I'd guess an uncolored, fiber filled Nylon. ABS deforms when stressed, PLA sags over time (outdoors, anyway) and shatters when shocked, colorants bleach... No material is perfe...

To be clear, we are talking about 2 similar, but different settings... The difference may not matter to some, but I'm holding out for the answer to OP's question, myself. - The reset button previously would kill the job and home the machine, which was nice because it wouldn't park the fully heated h...

They'll both have the same control board, steppers, extruder, carriages, etc. The main difference right now (aside from the build volume), and one that I'm sure will be updated soon, is the accelerometer board and the new hotend. I'm sure that the Chinese race to the bottom is part of it. I actually quite like that SeeMeCNC's philosophy is the opposite of that, and I'm willing to spend more for it. They strive to make as many things in house (Indiana) as they can, buy authentic components like the Rambo board from the origin...

Thank you so much Xenocrates. I will use that as my guideline for my purchase. And, as much as those "Olson Ruby" nozzles look awesome, I don't think it's worth paying $90 for. (Costs over half of what the HE280 costs) But, if it outlasts 3 of the steel nozzles from E3D, you've got your i...

Anybody noticed these yet?

A ruby orifica hotend ought to be pretty durable. They're pricey, but if they outlast multiples of the alternative, maybe that's worth something.
Anybody know the thermal coefficients on Ruby vs Brass?
