Re: Rostock Max V2 Preheat Causes Software Crash

I would send an email to support. I'd be surprised if they didn't have one or two on hand.

Re: Rostock Max V2 (Disassembled) in SF Bay Area

That's what happens when you overheat the pads. :)

Re: Rostock Max V2 Preheat Causes Software Crash

I would attach a voltmeter to the power supply and then try heating the bed. I suspect the power supply isn't capable of putting out enough power (or the heated bed or its wiring is shorted) and the power sag causes the controller to crash.

Re: Getting more oomph out of the motors

I think it's because PLA can leak around it. I'm not sure. I've never used the jet insert.

Re: Getting more oomph out of the motors

The heat break in the SE300 is made from stainless steel, so it should be fine. I'm pretty sure the thermistor used in the Volcano is the same one used in the SE300.

Re: Getting more oomph out of the motors

There's no TPU inside the stock SE300 hot end. I don't think the Jet is available. I just re-read your post. I thought you were using a 0.6 nozzle, not a 1mm nozzle. You will NEVER print fast with a 1mm nozzle on the tiny heater block that the SE300 has. The incoming PLA is going to cool the filamen...

Re: Getting more oomph out of the motors

In order to keep the hot end at a temperature that can melt the PLA at the required flow rate for the speed you're printing at, you need to go higher than 220C. The larger diameter nozzle is increasing the flow volume and the hot end at a lower temperature can't keep up. The PLA moving through the h...

Re: Getting more oomph out of the motors

The extruder skips because you're trying to push filament through the hot end faster than the hot end can melt it. You either slow down your print speed, or turn up the heat. Do some test prints where you continually bump up the temp while increasing the print speed. You'll eventually hit a point wh...

Re: Once more with the Duet Wifi - totally stuck on the no networks/wifi idle msg

(psst! DHCP is *after* the connection is made. :D ) I suspect the root cause is related to both radios having the same SSID. It may also be specific to his particular make/model/firmware of wifi access point. It's certainly worth digging a bit more to see if the problem can be properly characterized...

Re: Once more with the Duet Wifi - totally stuck on the no networks/wifi idle msg

I'm really glad you got it working! Great catch on the 2.4Ghz restriction - I wasn't aware of that myself! (All of my WiFi access points use different names for the two different radios, so I NEVER would have caught this myself.)

Re: Once more with the Duet Wifi - totally stuck on the no networks/wifi idle msg

Are you sending commands to the board via the screen, or via the usb cable? If you're using the screen, try using the USB cable. You'll need a serial terminal (YAT works) to talk to the board. I *think* the baud rate is 115200, but I'm not sure. That should be easy to look up though. I flinched at t...

Re: V2 hot hed and heating bed random shut down

Heat the hot end and the bed, and while they're heating, check the 12v output of the power supply. It shouldn't be less than about 11.5V.

Re: no response from Rostock MAX V3

I think I mentioned this before - if there's a wiring issue to the HE280's PCB, the firmware will hang on initialization, which it appears to be doing in your photo.

Re: Max v2 printer stopping mid print

I would check the hot end wiring. If memory serves, the firmware will hang on init if it can't talk to the accel. circuit on the HE280.
