Re: Filament choices for outdoor applications
Geneb, from what I am reading (not testing) you have to go to ASA instead of ABS for UV protection, however the carbon used for black pigment in most filament is a really good UV absorber. There was a test (can't find it now) that left PLA in the desert for 6 months and then measured the tensile str...

Re: Filament choices for outdoor applications
I think if you get the right high temp PLA you are good to go. I had the one I tested in the oven for a long time at much higher than car temps... If you choose black, fairly UV resistant.

Re: Oddness / sequential prints
I think I tried it enclosed, which would completely change the temp. Also, I would think that any temp issues would effect printing in the center as well?

Re: Oddness / sequential prints
I am printing sequentially, so it finishes one part, then starts another. Really, the same as printing one part in a different part of the bed to avoid stringing. I did lower the speed significantly with not much of a noticeable difference. I was trying to think of a calibration issue that would mak...

Oddness / sequential prints
I am trying to figure out why I can print one perfect object in the middle of the bed, but when I do sequential duplicates of 2-4 there is almost always something wrong with a them. One layer line that is shifted, a wall that is mucked up for several layers, etc. I am able to lay down a even first l...

Re: Rostock Max v3 enclosure
I have been waiting for PLA for two weeks, finally cancelled the order and am ordering from somewhere else... I also got distracted with some other pre-production items...which is why I ran out of filament. I should have more filament this week, look for more info soon. The real truth is that I figu...

Undermount / BerdAir
I am considering getting an undermount from 713Maker for my HE280 and a Berdair kit (when they are available) in order to reduce the size of my print head diameter for sequential printing of multiple parts as well as more stable hot end/bed temperatures due to more appropriate cooling. Anything I sh...

Thanks for the education on food safe vs food grade (I changed the initial post to food safe). And yes, none of my equipment is food certified either but each step the right direction helps.

Protoparadigm PLA
http://www.protoparadigm.com/ingeo-pla/coal-black-PLA-1KG I am doing some experimentation with Protoparadigm ProSpec PLA and I have been really impressed so far. The quality of print is on par with ABS, the stringing is almost as good as ABS and I have heated it to 230f in my oven for over an hour ...

Re: Hectic! But nice.
I wonder where they are being shiped from, only $9 shipping to the NW USA but paying in euros :D Looking at part of the machine being SLS printed, we are probably lucky it isn't more costly. I am interested to see how well it works as opposed to a Bowden. They are both sort a remote system, seems li...

Re: Delta Calibration Wizard now online
Well.... I was successfully printing parts, made some changes to the printer and used the 6 factor calibration and dimensions on the part changed. Originally I had used the online wizard which would have been 7 factor. Since the 6 factor was done after the 7 factor I wouldn't imagine that it changed...
