Re: Rostock Max V3 Really having a hard time getting my first layer down

Looking at the photos I have to ask if the print is perfectly round? It seems off centre on the bed? Or is it oval in shape? The picture maybe skewing it a bit?

It leaves a nice matte finish. It seems to have similar surface to a thin flexible cutting board.

LokBuild - wow - update not so wow after all.

I am super impressed with this sheet of lokbuild and I don't impress easily! It is from a kickstarter campaign. http://www.LokBuild.com

PLA with no heat sticks every time and pops off with a snap when ready. I'm curious about its longevity compared to PEI.

Really hate when it prints upside down

Thanks for posting this. I am giving it a try but find the transition from one layer height to another, with the variable layer tool, leaves a very noticeable line.

Cnc coolant mist

To all the guys with cnc machines: does anyone have a link or a DIY coolant mister and pump? I won't use it often but nice to have one on hand when I cut an aluminum plate.

Thanks

Re: Need Help | Print Messing Up

I would suspect a corrupt model. Run it through netfab. How does it look in the slicer preview? The slicer may perceive that part of the module as an area that needs bridging so it speed up.

Question about the new V3 style triple fan part cooling

How is this type of part cooling working out? So may part cooling fans try and direct the air straight at the nozzle tip. Is the "blast the whole area" idea ok? I am talking about the V3 tri-shaped cooling fans.

Did you clear the eeprom first? OR you could set you z height right in the eeprom.

Seems a little costly considering you have to assemble it and no stepper.

Re: Looking for more precision

You should build your own. Lots of places for parts and advise. I was looking for more precision too and have built 2 very accurate printers. One with a 300x300x400 and smaller 150 x150x200mm core xy that is dead on. I just use the max now for fun stuff.

Why? Because these dudes need to make money and are probably pissed that the cheap Chinese junk is biting a hole in their wallet. They can throw the parts in a box, offer limited warranty and hide behind the " No phone support is available with any hacker series machine" so once the kit is...

Yes, you should buy a new Rambo. Or just replace the $1.00 fuse in the F3 position.https://www.seemecnc.com/collections/pa ... -for-rambo. I haven't used a Rambo in a long time but it is easily located. Do an image search. https://sc01.alicdn.com/kf/UT8PSKMXypbX ... gOFbX6.jpg

Re: Some bad layers...

It look like some play or looseness in the nozzle/effector. Is the nozzle loose? One of the belts loose?
