Re: heat break stuck

I'm not personally familar with the Se300 hotend, but it seems that the heat break, at least the one you got, is rather similar to an E3D clone from amazon. Can you extract the PTFE, and see if it's warped at all, as well as checking it's length against the heatbreak itself? There is also a chance t...

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

Nope. What you've done is set the IP for the mac to the IP of the duet. Think of it like a mailing address. You've told the mac and the duet they are both the same address. Instead, you should have the mac set to a different IP address in the network window. Don't touch the Duet currently, and chang...

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

Are you connecting the mac directly via ethernet to the duet ethernet, or is the Duet ethernet connecting through a switch/router/hub? Networking is complicated. Especially when not working. Luckily for you, while I'm no professional network guru, I have decent experience with this crap. On the mac,...

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

One thing you need to understand is that using a print host to change settings does not save those settings. The config.g is parsed at every startup, and then the configoverride.g is parsed. If you do not save your changes (There is a G code to do it, but manually editing and saving is probably easi...

Re: Duet WiFi - Rostock V2

Ramai, I don't think any of us have heard much from Brian (You might try the seemeCNC facebook page or emailing Seeme, as he's somewhat local to them, and part of the local makerspace that Seeme supports, IIRC). If you need an FSR plate, and can put together a drawing of it (SVG or CAD), you could p...

Re: V2 (mid 2016) to V3.2 (current) upgrade?

I've taken something close to it, with having a duet in the bottom of a v2 frame. The .9 motors aren't needed to make it work really well, but they do give better resolution, and unlike the stock controller, the duet can run at a step rate to fully make use of the .9 motors. What you may want to do ...

Re: V2 (mid 2016) to V3.2 (current) upgrade?

Likely with the V3 to V3.2 upgrade kit, and the designs from repables, you'll have a pretty darn solid machine. The V3 frame is quite nice, but the V2 is still pretty solid (after all, a bunch of us manage to make pretty good parts on V2s, and Gene and a few others still keep V1's in working trim (I...

Re: Hotend never reaches Temp

The rostock max is a 12 volt machine, yes. Do you have a multimeter, especially one with thermocouple support? The IR temp guns do not work accurately on aluminum, as it has the wrong reflectance for the settings in the cheap ones (You can buy ones which will work well with aluminum, but it's much m...

Re: V2 (mid 2016) to V3.2 (current) upgrade?

Those instructions won't cover everything. The V2 doesn't have the same frame setup as the V3, nor does it have mounting holes for the Duet, whip, etc. If you want that, you'll need a V3 frame kit, which goes for 270. If you don't want to change the hole frame, you can use a duet mount for the V2 fr...

Re: Duet WiFi - Rostock V2

The PSU I have installed is the one sold by SeemeCNC, the Keling 12v 29amp. Upon further investigation, the noisy fan is actually the one that's built into the PSU. I'm not sure what can be done about that. Would be it be strange to take it apart and put a quieter fan in it? Also of note, the board...

Re: Duet WiFi - Rostock V2

I'm going to mostly agree with IMboring. Now, you can buy quieter fans, such as Noctua or Silenx (Little bit pricy, especially on the small diameter fans.) 2) It should only activate when the hotend is above 45C by default (if it's connected to fan1) Try M106 P1 T75, where 75 (AKA, whatever number f...

Re: Ugly outline perimeters

I suspect it's partially that the speed is too high, and also that either the belts are not tight enough, or that there is backlash or slop somewhere in the setup. Make sure that your hotend is tightly connected to the effector, that the bed is not shifting, and that the carriages are in good shape.

Re: Print failure when printing vertical columns?

Are you printing via USB or from an SD card? It does sound like it's USB. You may want to try using an SD card to avoid a reset USB connection killing the job (Loose cable, driver glitch, polling rate mismatch, etc. USB to serial is hard) If you want to debug the USB, make sure to open the serial co...

Re: Calibration Nightmare

In that case, can you export your slicer settings, as well as dump your EEPROM for me? Both should be relatively simple, as the EEPROM dump can be done basically by opening the EEPROM settings in mattercontrol, and copying the log as it loads them from the printer, while most slicers have a settings...

Sounds quite frustrating indeed. Do you mind posting some pictures and print settings, as well as making sure you've checked the belt tension, that the end-stops aren't loose, and that your extruder is calibrated. It does sound like you have some issues with extrusion calibration if you're having ma...

Re: HEATER 1 Fault

I am not satisfied with wiggling wires to make it work for a while. I am making large prints that each use up $20 of filament. I have to start each print with a full roll so an aborted print is not just a waste of my time. The heater connector looks under rated for the current it carries. I am thin...

Re: Duet Ethernet and 7" screen how to get it to work?

The Duet does keep it's configuration (which includes a lot of the web server stuff as well, plus the config handles setting up communications with the Paneldue). That log says however, that the firmware is properly installed, but not configured (as the config.g that lives on the SD card is missing)...

Re: Error:Line Number is not Last Line Number+1 when the printer it´s usb connected to de PC

I suspect that one of the controllers (USB, USB to serial, etc), has a finite buffer, and at times it was filling up and dropping lines, or an intermittent connection issue caused it to drop the lines of code. It would explain why a better computer wouldn't have the issue, as they have more fully fe...

It's telling you the settings that are errored out in the error message. I would find them, and try giving it reasonable values. I believe that you should be able to shut off the prime tower settings completely, and gradual infill seems like an experimental feature you may have toggled on, so it sho...

Re: Onyx Temp Rating

The calcium silicate board can be cut reasonably with a circular saw or bandsaw. Try to make sure you have three or more teeth in the thickness of the material though, to avoid taking overly large bites from it and potentially cracking it. I'd cut it to fit as much of the bottom as possible, since i...

Re: Red Sand's Max V2 Build Thread

Sand, you're pretty darn close. Wiring a V2 relatively stock isn't that bad, and the new parts will only speed up putting the carriages, belts, arms, and hotend together. And so long as you make some progress every time you work on it, you'll eventually get there. I have a friend who had a V3 that s...

Re: Newer Arduino versions that work?

There is actually a precompiled V2 hex here I'll tell you a few good excuses to get a duet board. Network based controls and monitoring. If your printer is in another room (or like me, in an outbuilding), it can be invaluable to be able to to check on it, and you can embed a IP-camera feed into DWC,...
