Re: Yet Another Dual Extruder Design Attempt

Hello again, Well i have my new platforms in hand, just need to get the cross holes popped in, and I wired up the hot end to the rambo board, following the manual and other posts regarding heat 0 heat 1 t0 t1 etc etc. 20150928_222320.jpg I'm to the point where I need to make the firmware changes, an...

Re: Yet Another Dual Extruder Design Attempt

im currently printing a redesigned dual ezstruder mount that allows for room for the heat sinks we ziptied onto the extruder stepper motor after noticing it was considerably hotter than the other motors. so i made mounting holes to mount a 120mm fan (low speed n quiet) to help pull across the fins. ...

Re: 24/7....ish Streaming

cool, i'll have to check it out when there are people on. I wouldn't want to take up a seat if there is only 10 and if I'm just idle 90% of the time. i just started a 12 hr print though. Its basically a cup and lid for a friends college project i think.

24/7....ish Streaming

I will leave my ip cam on basically 24/7, no promises I will be printing all the time, but there is a pretty good chance I will be. I will post updates if/when I am starting a big print. tinyurl.com/printerviewer2 Pardon the clutter. I am in the process of remodeling and my new nerdatorium has been ...

Re: Yet Another Dual Extruder Design Attempt

I bet the most likely result would be the bed being even more anemic. Yeah this is what I am gathering from other discussions. Not to sidetrack but there's basically 2 ways of doing the 24v bed right? (1) atx power supply for everything (minus bed) + (1) 24v power supply that strictly heats the bed...

Re: Yet Another Dual Extruder Design Attempt

I must say, your design is impressive. I have been working on a new platform for mine to hold a chimera hot end, i plan to eventually have it machined out of aluminum. I'm going to be using this with trick lasers 325mm cf arms but in a double hung setup where they attach. So far i have it so that th...

Re: Chimera Dual Extruder Mount

ahhhhh reading the instructions here again, i see that i must have misread that, though i did mount it as depicted. but even such, i would think there is a lot of space around the center of the fan that would still not be used. like, even a small spacer would allow the air to flow around the fins th...

Re: Chimera Dual Extruder Mount

Currently our rostock max v2 is "on loan" at a local company that did some laser scanning for us and their printers couldn't print this wax mold core making filament, but ours could, so while they have our good printer, my brothers friend said, well you can borrow mine in the meantime. So ...

Chimera Dual Extruder Mount

Made a quick adapter piece to bolt up my new chimera hot end to my max v2, I plan to have this made out of aluminum, but i may end up designing a completely aluminum platform to specifically hold the chimera hot end. I whipped this up and quickly saw the smiley face that it had generated, so natural...

Re: Hello from Iowa!

Oh, side note, as far as the open source part of our project, we're basically going for a fully printed, or purchased component arm, that uses an arduino for control, and is more utilitarian of a prosthesis. like I've said before, we're not trying to make the Ferrari of bionic arms, we're not even t...

Re: Hello from Iowa!

I will post pictures of our max when we get it back, currently it is being used at a local company that aided us with laser scanning our friends current prosthetics to give us a cad model of what has already been created for a form-fitting socket for him, which gave us a HUGE starting place. They ne...

Hello from Iowa!

Greetings all, I guess for starters I'll say that I have read these forums a ton for advice and info, and I just figured it was time to get in on the action. I am a tooling designer from Iowa, born and raised the second son of two engineers. Growing up my family was involved with battlebots (circa 2...
