Re: Using Fan2 output

Well there IS a pins.h file - it's used by the firmware. However, that's not where fan pins are assigned. The problem you've got is probably due to a motor that's being driven at too high a current. Can you attach a copy of your Configuration.h file to a reply for me? I'd like to see where you've go...

Re: Artemis 300 whiskers

That's a phenomenon called "stringing". It can happen if the temperature for the material you're printing is too high. I take it you're using one of the SeeMeCNC Cura profiles? What material are you printing with?

Re: Wiring issue

Since those wires don't typically get stressed, the other wires are most likely just fine. Replacing them all is insane overkill. Did you get a little baggie of tiny crimp connectors with your Artemis? if so, you've got what you need to replace that wire. The face of the connector opposite the locki...

Re: Artemis 300 RTP

A powered off stepper has NO holding power. ;) I've got two machines that do this exact thing. It's not a mechanical fault. Go into Settings->Printer->Manage Printer. Click on the printer you want to modify and click on the "Machine Settings" button. In the "End G-code" box, remove the M84 line and ...

Re: Using Fan2 output

By "extruder" are you referring to the extruder stepper motor itself?

Note that any fan pin changes are going to be done in Configuration.h, not pins.h

Re: Artemis 300 RTP

Cura may be adding an M84 command at the end of the job. This will turn the motors off. The weight of the effector could then pull it down into your print. Check the post-print code in Cura. (not sure where that's at though)

Re: Rostock Max v2 Noob question. Help please

You can replace the two 6.8 Ohm resistors with a single 12v heater cartridge. I did a video a number of years ago on upgrading the stock hot end with a threaded thermistor and a 40W heater cartridge. You'll need this: https://www.ebay.com/itm/222900991161 (threaded thermistor) and this: https://www....

Re: Rostock Max v2 Noob question. Help please

First of all, don't knock yourself - everyone started out somewhere. When I started working with 3D printers, I was a rage-quitting, curse-filled, madman. Now I'm just a curse-filled madman. ;) If your hot end won't go over 189C, you might have a weak power supply. Check the output voltage of the po...

The rotation can be controlled by the feed rate parameter when you're commanding the axis to move.

Re: Noz: def, heater decoupled (RMV2)

Did you update the thermistor type in the firmware after you changed the hot end? The E3D thermistor is different than the one in the stock v2 hot end.

Re: Noz: def, heater decoupled (RMV2)

Check the voltage at the RAMBo while you're trying to heat the hot end. It should be 12v. Some of the older ATX power supplies give up the ghost.

Also check to make sure that the wires are not lose in the compression terminal on the RAMBo end.

You're quite welcome!

I've got a v4 coming soon and I may be doing a live build of it on my YouTube channel (https://www.youtube.com/f15sim) - you might want to subscribe so you get notified if/when the stream starts. It will likely be next Saturday.

I can't address all your points (I don't have a v4), but I can address most of them. :) 2. Instructions - check 'em out: https://seemecnc.dozuki.com/c/RostockMAX_v4 3. It doesn't have "auto-level". That's what cartesian printers do. ;) The v4 (as well as the v3.2 and Artemis 300) use auto-calibratio...

Re: Delta Calibration Wizard now online

The delta calibration wizard on dc42's site (http://www.escher3d.com/pages/wizards/wizarddelta.php) is open source as far as I know. That's what my Octoprint plugin is based on as well as the SeeMeCNC calibration page. If you're concerned about it, you can send him a pm here. He lurks here, so may s...

Considering the thousands of well working v2s there are out there, maybe the printer isn't the failure point here. ;)
