Re: First Prints... YAY! I'm printing!
im going to try some rubber bands on the arms by the effector, i seem to have picked up some play there since I first built the machine.... So that is what that mod is for? I do have one of my u-joints that is loose, I did shim it thought. Sanding, flick, sanding, flick sand, flick ... oh damn ...

How high did you manage to get with before you saw it? did it start suddenly, or as a progression?

Re: First Prints... YAY! I'm printing!
Very interesting. I think I am going to try some dry run scripts just to test the motion of everything. See if I can pinpoint any unwanted movement; binding, slop, or tower movement. if it is physical wobble as BubbaSnow suggests, the only thing I can think of that would create that is drag created ...

Re: First Prints... YAY! I'm printing!
Yes, it was after that. but it was not immediate. I sped it up around 3" and around 6 is where I start seeing the first. then progressively got worse. I don't have it on me, but I will look closer to see if there is any more subtle differences. Yes, boring. I will reprint it tonight, just before I ...

Re: first layer fan shroud recommendation
I am going to try the fan on the side for now, but, I am still scheming about a fan on the effector. Both mhackney and Batteau62 seem to have very good points, problem is, once I get to larger prints, I will want to run things over night. Maybe a little of both. I too, have thought of a bowden tube ...

Re: First Prints... YAY! I'm printing!
I will obsess over all of that... I did a couple of prints tonight, non have been satisfactory. But, then again, I changed things. I did bump up the speed on all of them, including the tube. I will run that again at a lower speed tomorrow night (over night) to see. I did notice one of my skates was ...

Re: First Prints... YAY! I'm printing! New Calibration
Getting there! This one isn't all that troubling, YET, as to start, most of my stuff will be smaller, and utility type stuff... but it is coming that I will want larger and finer prints. I printed the calibration Cylinder. The bottom came out outstanding for the resolution I am printing at (.2) but ...

Punchy! Trust isn't an issue, I just find that people have different ways of thinking about things that easily get lost in text. Especially for us nub's at something. it is easy to misinterpret the "goings on" of things Pictures are a little more concise. Oh, and i am just voyeuristic... so there! :P

EagleSoarz: I am going to order one, probably tonight, ... but I am getting anxious and want to print something more. and more and more. Thought a shroud would be a good first useful print too, for the shroud for that, is it an easy print if you don't have a layer fan already? mhacnkney: how well ...

Hey all! I am to the point where I want a layer fan shroud. I have the 40mm fan that came with my kit, not the new squirrel cage fan though. got mine a couple weeks before they came out with that. anybody have a recommendation for one. for now, I am printing PLA (don't have any ABS) and of course ...

Re: Hello from Dallas Tx
Mike, I just got through my build (not without some minor issues) and I am still dialing everything in with minor issues so far resolved fairly quickly along the way. 1. Process Gene's text... In a couple of places, I my brain processed the image, not the text and it got me in a little trouble ...

Re: Leaning offset first print, what am i doing wrong?
(Another problem, which may or may not be related, is when the block was printing offset, it seemed that there was too much plastic being fed, after it went up ~10 layers and up I could see the head was pushing down into the plastic as it printed, rather that being just above the plastic. When it ...

EagleSoarz,
In the other thread, they did say something about the design, that something in this design makes it more suitable. Though, you having issues, makes your trepidation understandable.
Cheers!

Re: Extruder Calibration
I figured it out. it is the extrusion width in the Slicer:Printer Settings:Advanced.
I was looking at that thinking there should be a separation setting, not realizing this one would do the trick.
Thanks!!!!

so what happens if you do G28 G4 P500 G0 Z0 X0 Y90 F3500 I am doing a print right now but I imagine that would solve it. But is that just not putting a bandage on the problem? im running .91 and I am not having these issues. so if it fixes your issue its not a bandage, its a custom solution :) It ...
