Re: Best PLA & ABS for Rostock Max V2?
I just picked up a spool of ABS from justabs on amazon for $20. I was expecting it to be junk but is printing really well. I have an imgur album ( http://imgur.com/a/1H0yu ) with a rocket I printed at 2x scale for the /r/3dprinting contest over on reddit. I printed at 245c to avoid the dreaded separ...

Re: Waiting for V2 to arrive, What Mods to get before Build?
I didn't install dampers, and I don't find the noise annoying. Me too! I don't have printed a lot (just 4-5 hours total), but at the moment it sounds like music to me :D The novelty wears off. Once you get the dampers you won't understand how you survived without them. I'm printing right now and th...

Re: Fail at 99% of a 27 hour print
Here is my print. The lower jaw was printed with a .25mm layer height with support. The upper was printed with a .2mm layer height with no support. Both turned out amazingly well. Sliced in KISS.

Re: Fail at 99% of a 27 hour print
Are you guys printing with support? I am attempting this print right now at a .25mm layer height. Just sliced it in KISS with support. I'm starting with the lower jaw but plan to re-orient the upper jaw so the teeth are pointed up when I print them.

I got an e3d for Christmas and am hoping to get it set up in the next few days. What's the consensus on the best mount? I know 626pilot and MSUrunner both have great looking designs. I also have a tricklaser j-head slot mount sitting around. Where's the best place to start?

I get similar results when printing the onyx calibration circles. I will be following this thread closely. Be sure to update it if you find a solution.
My printer is amazing as long as I say withing the inner half of the platform. I want to do some big prints so I'm anxious to find the solution.

Re: EZextruder stepper still slipping!
I had a slipping issues that turned out to be bad filament. It would slip on retracts and end up shaving little bits of the plastic off causing it to leave gaps in the prints.

Print with a brim. It's easy to remove at the end and keeps edges from warping.

Very nice idea. Where do you have the wires from that running to on the Rambo? Fan 1?

Re: I have so many fans now!
What's the proper way to wire fans and a light ring to the Rambo? I currently have my fan hooked up to Fan 0. I previously had the LED ring hooked up to Fan 0 and manually turned it on and off with the 'Fan' control in RepHost. How do I maintain manual control of the LEDs now that I have a fan wired...

Check to make sure you aren't getting plastic flakes on the extruder bolt. If the extruder gets gunked up the plastic will slip and cause problems like what you are having.

I will post mine in the next couple of days after I get it prin...

Re: SOLD: Astrosyn NEMA 17 dampers
I installed mine over the weekend. Maybe someone else said this already, but you do need longer screws to mount the steppers. I think I needed an extra 6mm per screw. Also, I wasn't sure how tight to screw them in because you can compress that rubber and mine did not compress the exact same amount ...

I just got these installed an am doing my first post-damper print. I am very impressed. These should be part of the kit... if you don't have them already and sit in the same room as your printer - get them! It took me longer than 15 minutes to get them installed but it was a simple and straightforwa...

Re: MDMD's Rostock Max Build
I will agree with that. The white filament is less consistent in size than the blue, but not bad. I'm just glad I can do a decent print now. I was surprised about the blue filament because I ordered it with my kit from seemecnc. I have an email off to them alerting them to the issues I am having wit...
