Re: Duet WiFi details published and pre-order window open

As I mentioned in my last post, I'm unaware of how the web server works, both on this board and on the old board. I didn't care too much about the duet until a couple weeks ago. You are right, I repeated what dc said about the separate CPU, it seemed you didn't acknowledge it other than to talk abou...

Re: Duet WiFi details published and pre-order window open

The web server is what makes this board unique. Its one of the key selling points for a lot of people. You're arguing that they should get rid of the feature that the wifi on this board (and ethernet on the old board) added so you can get ethernet back? for what purpose then? I don't know enough abo...

Re: Duet WiFi details published and pre-order window open

One more thing: People who clamor for WiFi can easily add Wifi to a Wired Ethernet device, but NOT the other way around. Adding a Wireless Bridge to a Wired Ethernet device to allow someone to put it on a Wifi network can be done inexpensively. You can find wireless bridge devices for $15 to $20 (U...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

Comparing your Gcode to mine, mine moves based around the center of the delta printer (center is X=0, Y=0, instead of being half of the max values of each axes like on a cartesian printer), while yours is moving way off in the upper right corner Mine: G1 F900.000 X0.214 Y0.188 E0.01554 G1 X0.001 Y0....

I'm also on OS X so I'll try messing around with it. I'm pretty sure I know whats wrong and I can check it out soon. edit: which version are you using? I have 2.1.2 and I put the .json file in the correct spot (new location is Content/Resources/cura/resources/...) and I edited it so the center is 0,...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

Its still essentially a beta release. The pathing looks nice and most features work, but the support for multi extrusion isnt yet implemented (looking on forums and github its in the works) and there is no support for custom printer sizes (only pre defined printers, like the ultimaker lines and a fe...

New version: 2.1.2

This new version looks really nice, and it has a TON of settings. I just downloaded it tonight but I will be trying it out pretty soon here with 2-3 printers. With Jonathan from KISS going AWOL again, Cura seems like the next best thing to me, and this new release has a lot of potential. Over 200 co...

Re: X/Y Dimensions off. How can I fix it?

Yeah, the pulleys are machined in large batches and have to be in tolerance (probably less error than everything else on the printer) and the belts are similar. Any slight differences are negligible. If they arent, then you have bigger problems.

I would set max temp to 290 or 295, and the defect to 305 or 210. I keep them about 15C apart for overshoot

Re: Error:Printer set into dry run mode until restart

What is probably going on is there are hard temp limits in the firmware, one for min temp and one for max temp, and if the thermistor reads outside of these ranges it considers the thermistor to be defective or nonexistent. You probably changed the max temp that you can set to be outside of this fai...

Re: Leaking Hot End, already tightened?

Have you tried taking it apart and checking the condition of the teflon liner? It might be out of place or even damaged. It should be the thing keeping the plastic from leaking like that.

EEPROM_Set or something like that. If it differs from the number in EEPROM the EEPROM will be overridden by the config.h file. Its on the first page of the config tool.

The prime tower in KISS is a small one wall cylinder with no infill. The best prime tower I've seen/used was the Cura prime tower that was 100% infill with no perimeters. Unfortunately Cura had quality issues that aren't present in KISS, and KISS has more options related to retracts that make it bet...

The Lulzbot printers all have wipers now (the TAZ 6 has a bunch of features brought in from the mini, including this) that the printer wipes off all the snot on before printing/tramming. Would be nice to get something like that on our printers. Maybe a little fold out thing on a servo, or some cleve...

Re: E3D v6 jams and other issues

220 for PLA? Thats really hot typically. PLA is very different from ABS, and higher melt temps != lower resistance. Drop it down at least 10 degrees. You may have scratched the nozzle interior with the wire you're cleaning it with. Also if you're getting carbonization in the nozzle you're letting th...

Re: Most elegant way to wire duel extruder?

If you rewire the towers you should be able to fit everything. I'm using CAT5e cable (24 gauge) that I got from home depot to do most things (they are already bundled in pairs to minimize crosstalk). I have the endstop and thermistor wires (5 pairs) running up the X tower, 2 18 gauge runs going up t...

Are you using my firmware config? Just move the layer fan wires over to Fan-1 instead of EXT-1. For some reason the default SMC repetier uses EXT-1 for the layer fan.

Re: E3D v6 jams and other issues

Most people have better success with low and slow (2mm retracts at 15mm/sec, and if you can set the "prime" speed (when the extruder unretracts the filament it retracted before a move) to a bit higher). Not sure how photog is managing 125mm/sec retracts without jamming issues. Some people ...

Re: Strange behaviour while platform descending to printbed

I'm not sure either, but it may be because the steppers are run at a higher frequency on the newer version, putting more stress on the drivers. But what you're experiencing sounds really similar to the overheating driver problem.

Re: Strange behaviour while platform descending to printbed

It sounds like the stepper drivers may be overheating. Try touching one of them when the RAMBo is on for too long. Is the fan that is supposed to be on them running properly?
