Re: I keep blowing fuses

ok I thought it might be. I don't think that insulation is capable of a high enough heat resistance at least not if you plan to print with PLA... but even then when you do the calibration on the hotend, I think it went somewhere near 250 degrees Celsius. I've been looking at using heat shrink too, b...

Re: I keep blowing fuses

So it turns out I did have a short. Unplugging everything from the RAMPS board, I noticed the hot end thermistor wires white sheilding were bubbled and melted I followed it all the way back to the hot end and the wires I soldered onto the thermistor had gotten pressed together somehow. I'm surprise...

Re: Thread Locking Compound

Don't skip this, in fact I would consider filing a flat on the stepper motor shafts to ensure no slipping. I just had a pulley move(with flats and thread lock) back toward a stepper. There is a fair amount of vibration and movement involved with a Max. Do anything to keep things in place, you will ...

I can't remember, but pretty sure that part number is the standard motor with the RostockMAX and the sequence is in Gene's Assembly manual v1.0.7 June 18th.

Re: dose anyone have some time to help with arduino settings

I'm not certain if the original repetier firmware is fully Ardunio compatible, I think until fairly recently there was a modified version of Ardunio required for the repetier firmware... although I just loaded the Repetier.pde file in Arduino 1.0.5 and it successfully verified and compiled... Haven'...

Re: dose anyone have some time to help with arduino settings

You shouldn't really have to do any programming per se, however you will most likely need to alter the default values of the variables. I'm not familiar enough with the Mendel printer. But when I'm home tonight I could probably go through the Configuration.h file and point out all the variables you'...

Re: Repetier for RostockMax and RAMBO

Yes Repetier-Firmware original is at v0.83 but the SeeMECNC RostockMAX fork of the Repetier firmware is still at v0.80. (unless the version numbers are no longer the same) I'm not certain this is a direct fork of the repetier firmware, I couldn't find the sha where it was forked from (at least one w...

Ah I must have it mixed up, I was thinking uw was the formal you, perhaps it was jou that I'm thinking of or the reverse and u is the formal. I've rechecked my changes, I ended up leaving the offset as zero and just altered the PRINTER_RADIUS, granted that in the end they all get calculated and make...

Hoi, Hoe gaat het met uw? That's about the limits of my Dutch, anyway I had a similar problem. Firstly is your bed level? Grab something with a straight edge, also make sure each tower is square. For myself I changed PRINTER_DELTA_RADIUS and added an offset to DELTA_RADIUS If your nozzle is raising ...

Re: Power supply glitch

What trips? The mains power supply? The power supply unit (PSU)? The fuse on the Rambo board? Myself I'm using the PSU that was supplied by SeeMECNC, pretty sure it was 430W On the workbench I assume you have everything connected via the Rambo. How many wires are connected from the PSU to the Rambo ...

Re: Hello Yall

Welcome to the forums Clark, I too am fairly new to the 3D printing world, I went with the Rostock MAX mainly because it had the largest print size. I can't offer any comparativeness. But if you do go with the RostockMAX GeneB assembly guide is pretty good (make sure you get the current one last I s...

Re: I keep blowing fuses

Ok I'm not sure on which is the white build instructions, I followed Gene's v1.07, 18th June 2013. I thought about using heat shrink tubing myself but didn't think it could handle the temperatures required for printing ABS. I'm actually surprised my hotend hasn't shorted, I didn't have enough PTFE t...

Re: I keep blowing fuses

Hey Sandy, If you are blowing a fuse so frequently I'd stop and recheck all your wiring, there must be a short somewhere... if it's happening during a build. I'd have to guess it's caused by movement so therefore probably located around the hotend, which by the looks of it you have already guessed a...

First attempt at the pyramid, would appreciate suggestions on how to improve it. Using Repetier v0.90b Slic3r 0.9.10b, hotbed 100C and hotend 230C. With 1.75mm ABS (210-250C, bilbycnc.com.au). Re: Holes on walls printing ABS

No worries and here's the URL I read about the moister http://www.protoparadigm.com/blog/2013/01/the-difference-between-abs-and-pla-for-3d-printing/ I've been working around the same temps 230C and have tried lower with my ABS, which has a melting point between 210 and 250. I haven't seen anything l...

ok confirmed same warning, don't know if it's important or not, after all it is just a warning. What kind of settings are people using to print this? Re: Holes on walls printing ABS

I think I remember reading something about this and that the cause could be moister in the air and/or on the filament.

Besides that out of curiosity for myself, what's the melting point range for your ABS and what temperature are you running at?

Re: Finally finished my fan shroud

ABS would benefit especially, since it tends to warp more, but a fan can help with PLA too. Really, this time of fan is for particular types of prints rather than particular types of filament. When you're printing very small surface areas, the layers sometimes don't have time to cool enough before ...

Re: Power Failure

How'd you go, any luck? Another thing to check and it'd be too late now for the PSU if it was wrong, did you check the voltage for the PSU? Assuming you are using a normal computer type power supply (like the one that comes with the Rostock Max kit) they generally have a switch between 110VAC and 23...

Howdy, Firstly this is something I'm interested into and haven't actually done it yet, so I could be telling you absolute garbage. But on the board you are interested in EXT0 and EXT1, your existing hotend will be connect to one of these, and then you have E0 and E1 for your extruder motors, again y...
