Re: Upgraded Rostock Max for sale
Gene - Thanks for the correction! I took a look and it does appear you could remove the 4 screws holding the power supply in place and slide it out the side. Certainly a lot less work than I had originally envisioned.

Upgraded Rostock Max for sale
I have a Rostock Max that has been sitting on my desk that has not been used much. I lost interest in the hobby for a while and then when I came back to it I build a Metal Max. So my original Rostock has been taking up valuable desk space. I figured I would post it here to see if anyone is intereste...

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build
Here is a little peek at something else I have been working on. I laser cut the design mockup from wood over a year ago... just could not stand it any longer, had to make some aluminum chips this weekend just for fun. Now to find the time to test it out on my MAX. Very nice! Now I'm regretting purc...

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build
I'm thinking a kit of just three of the cross braces, and idler system would make a huge difference on a stock printer, eliminating the melamine up top. Mac, I'm sure it would make it more ridged but I would think it would be difficult to make sure it was "squared" up without the guide pi...

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build
Not looking to hijack ccavanaugh's thread. I figured since everyone was reading this thread I would add my 2 cents... I just received my frame and wanted to share my first impression. I have to say that Brian's work is excellent! I saw the first frames at MRRF and was impressed. What I received seem...

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build
What do you guys think, should I add holes for the wiring (maybe a slot would be better) or should I leave that up to your wire routing preference. Add my vote for a hole/slot for wiring... As other have said I would rather have it done by a machinist than having to work it out myself. Hopefully, i...

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build
Ccavanaugh, To start off I have to tell you how impressed i am with your work and a bit envious. I have ordered the Max Metal kit and was wondering if you will make your STL files available. I would love to start printing some of the parts, before the kit arrives. Vitaly Thanks! The link to...

Re: Upgrade kit for v1 owners?
I was just talking to John and Steve at MRRF today about an upgrade kit. I think it is definitely on the list of things to do but they both seem to have a pretty full plate(not just with MRRF). No release date yet. I would have loved to pick one up but I will have to be patient... On the other hand ...

Re: Upgrade kit for v1 owners?
With the announcement of the Rostock Max 2 I'm assuming it will be at the Midwest Reprap Fest in March. It would be even sweeter if you could pick up an upgrade kit for those of us with v1 Maxes while we're there! Steve/John - if you weren't already thinking in that direction, might I suggest it!

Undersized Prints
I'm having a bit of issue with getting a 20x20x10 calibration cube with .5mm walls to print at the correct size. When printed(in abs) it is more like 15.2x 15.2x7.7 with 1mm walls I've tried slicing it in Slic3r and Cura with about the same result so I'm guessing it's not the slicer. Cura is also re...
