Re: Determining unknown nozzle bore size.
If you tell the slicer you have a 1.1mm nozzle but your nozzle is actually 1.03mm the amount of plastic pushed thru the hole will be the same as if the nozzle really were 1.1mm. It is just that it will take a little bit more pressure to do it but not so much that it will cause problems. Then as long...

Re: SSR keeps blowing on 24V Heated bed
Has anyone put a scope on the circuit?
Perhaps there is enough inductive kickback to eventually kill a cheap SSR. Maybe just need a snubber circuit.

Re: Open-source industrial servo motor
If I am reading it write you can get torque feedback. That could be a simple way to find Z zero by just tapping the nozzle on the bed.
Or getting some feedback from the extruder about just how hard it is pushing.

Re: wear resistant nozzles and Glow filament
And people freak out over the little bit of lead in brass. I would look into something like C63000 nickel aluminum bronze. One thing that would need to be researched is how the properties of these copper alloys change at the temps we are using them at. But I think if the design is done right the low...

Re: Want to try some 3D Printing
I think I will get the parts ordered so the next time I get a weekend free I can play around with it some. Looking at 12 hour plus days at work now for the next 3 or 4 weeks so not much ambition left on week nights. ;) I just downloaded and tried Slic3r I had tried Kiss slicer before. The gcode from...

Re: Want to try some 3D Printing
Yes it would be slow. I can reliably get 40 IPM (17 mmPS), 50 if everything is clean and freshly oiled but it is not a sure thing. Still it may be worth trying if I can use it to make some parts for the delta. From what I have found temperature control can be had with a modified version of this, htt...

Want to try some 3D Printing
I have been looking around and I really like the delta type printers. I was just about to order a Rostock MAX when after sleeping on it I figure maybe I should try something simpler first. I have a Taig mill with a G540 controlled by EMC2. Seems that with a few more parts, extruder (cold and hot end...
