Benefits of V1 to V2 Upgrade Kit
So, I was wondering if there would be any benefits in upgrading my Rostock Max V1 to a V2 using the upgrade kit. From my understanding one of the big things about V2 is that its simpler to build, but would I see any other benefits from that?

Re: IMPORTANT! V1 to V2 Rostock Max is Ready!
:D :D :D I have been waiting for this! It looks like just the thing I need now too! I had the tabs break off of the extruder arm that hung off the side. Haven't been able to print since I can't hold the filament on it any more! Just a couple of questions though. 1) The page states it contains all th...

Re: LCD Stopped Displaying - Using Repetier 091
I reseeded the cables, I'll double check that they are on right. I've never messed with them once I got the printer working, so they shouldn't be in the wrong order. I don't know how that would explain the LCD working then just deciding to take a break. As for being to long, they are the cables that...

LCD Stopped Displaying - Using Repetier 091
I've been using the latest Repetier 091 firmware for about 2 months now, and about two weeks ago the LCD display stopped displaying. When I turn on the printer it lights up but is blank. It did this to me one about a month ago, and re-flashing the firmware seemed to fix it. I've re-flashed Repetier ...

I'm also facing the same issue, need to investigate this.
Could you suggest a holder? I'm searching Thingiverse and not finding anything that will work for a Rostock.

Re: Layers Splitting Apart
It is indeed ABS, the green stuff from SeeMeCNC. I think it might be the room temp, I just don't know the best way to control it. I don't really have any extra space to do the printing, living in a condo and all. I really need to come up with some sort of cover for it. Know of any one that has come ...

Layers Splitting Apart
Hello again. So I seem to have a very nice printer over here, making some amazing looking vases. I've moved onto making complete structures now, but I am running into a serious splitting problem. It seems that some of the layers have trouble adhering to each other, so they split apart, making big ga...

Re: J-Head Groove Mount From Trick Laser keeps head too high
Thought I should post a reply since I did get a solution. https://www.dropbox.com/s/7gqcokx1bla3hmp/2013-06-22%2000.29.07.jpg I ended up using 3 bolts for each tower. One on the bottom to keep it stable, then one in the middle to be the base for the mount and finally one to hold the mount in place. ...

J-Head Groove Mount From Trick Laser keeps head too high
I just got my J-Head from hotends.com and mounted it into the J-Head Groove Mount from Trick Laser, which I assume is version 1 since what I have is different then what is on the website. I ordered the mount last week and got it Tuesday I believe, and got the hot end today. The problem is after inst...

Re: Best way to remove clog from Hot End
Thank you all for the suggestion! I was able to get the clog out and actually print! Only two and a half weeks after receiving the printer, it is done and printing! Bellow is a vid of it printing out my fourth print, a bridge test. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=hsq4_DAXObw I was able to remove the ...

Re: Best way to remove clog from Hot End
I've tried another go with the toaster oven, after another failed extrusion attempted. It looks like what is stuck in there is mostly carbonized now. I've got the head sitting in some acetone. I ordered a J-Head from hotends.com on Friday, I just don't recall if I got it before it sold out or not. O...

Re: Best way to remove clog from Hot End
Welp I was able to remove a lot of the plastic using the toaster oven, but can't get the actual clog that is in the tip of the head. I'm going to try aceton now while I wait for my J-Head to ship.

Re: Best way to remove clog from Hot End
Got home and started to take it apart. The jam is mostly in the brass nozzle, with only a little bit of plastic in the tube going into the nozzle. https://www.dropbox.com/s/8anptfgk9n901x9/2013-06-14%2020.10.57.jpg I have a feeling this may be a lost cause. I don't really know where to go next. Coul...

Welp, just went a head and ordered a J-Head from hotends.com, and a J-Head holder from trick laser. I'll still post pics when I get home, would be nice if I could salvage this hot end.

Re: Best way to remove clog from Hot End
I'll get some pics when I get home. I'm pretty sure I have funked up this hot end, just me being impatient  Finally got it built and calibrated, just had to print something. If I'm looking at getting new hot ends, what would you suggest? Should I stick with the hot ends from See Me or try out ...

Best way to remove clog from Hot End
So, I just finished building my printer the other night, and had finished with calibration. I wanted to do a quick test print before I went to bed, but I was having difficulty with getting the ABS plastic to extrude. I'm not sure if my hot end was up to temp or not, I don't think I got the thermisto...

Re: Default Rostock
I can't make my printer move in Repetier host yet. Every time I send a command to it, it replies it is in dry run mode. I wonder if this is because I don't have the hot end completed yet, so it isn't getting a temp reading for the hot end. EDIT After fixing the pins on the motor connectors, its aliv...

Re: Default Rostock
I seem to be facing this same issue as well. Just got (almost) every thing done (don't have the extruder yet or the hot end completed, broke the thermometer...) and I am trying to flash the firmware and see if I can manually move the arms. I have the Arduino 1.0.5 software and the latest Repetier fi...
