Re: PEI print bed surface experiments
The 3M tape is what the commercial manufacturers of pre-adhesive PEI plates are selling too. This tape is perfect for this application at reasonable bed temps (i.e 100°C or less).

Re: Looking for auto-leveling recommendations for my Metal Max
There is another alternative to David's Smart Effector mount - 713Maker has a mounting ring that you attach to the Smart Effector and it works with the stock ball cup arms. I had it on my modified V3 at MRRF last weekend in the Duet booth. I don't know if the stock SMCNC hot end will work with the S...

No guts, no glory as they say. But as a 3D printing maestro (not my words!), I can make any instrument sing. Plus the "slicer trickery" is more a function of hot end and extruder and I have lots of Bondtech BMG / E3D V6 water cooled experience. Cake walk! You can see that I hadn't even san...

The extruder is a stock Bondtech BMG, the jacket (green) is the mount for my Palette+ filament delivery tube. The hot end is a stock E3D V6 that I modified with a water cooling jacket.

My RailCore
I started building mine back in Sept-Oct along with one of my local supporters (we each built a RailCore). This was early days so part of the job was to sanity check the documentation, BOM, etc. This was my first CoreXY machine and I was VERY interested to see how it performed since I've seen and he...

KISSlicer 1.6.2 released
KISSlicer 1.6.2 was just release on all platforms. See the change log for details, minor fixes but one new big thing is an Object Packing Quality option on the Misc panel. Leave it at Fast but if you need better packing change it. However, note that it will take a bit of time depending on how many o...

What was the result of tuning our extruder's esteps? Your photos and description and KISS settings tell me that your extruder calibration is off. Also, please watch my KISSlicer 1.6 YouTube tutorial videos . I've already completed a video on perimeters/loops which will also help you quite a bit. I a...

It really is that easy to get started. And to make it simpler, if you have a Rostock MAX V3, I've posted a complete set of config files on the KISSlicer.com web site. Cheers!

I'm going to set it up between my Rostock Max V3 (highly modified) and the D300VS so I can use either or to print. I am getting a second encoder to make this painlessly easy.

Re: mhackney's Real V3 Build Thread
That doesn't make sense - if you were simply hitting the bed hold downs and nothing else, reducing the probe radius should not cause the fans to interfere.
I'll try to post a photo. I have a mess here and that printer is on the floor under another printer!

Re: mhackney's Real V3 Build Thread
1) You can change the calibration points and David has a calculator on his web site that generates the g-code for you. Sounds like you are probing at too large a radius. 2) Yes they are, I didn't intend to use the blue clamps as I find them too flexible. I use a small strip of aluminum. A simple pri...

Re: Yet another Duet-to-HE280 accelerometer probe adapter
Honestly, it is not worth the time and aggravation trying to get this to work. It is almost certain that the issue is the adapter is not seeing the trigger event due to the wide variability in probing conditions. This is why I abandoned this approach.

Re: Yet another Duet-to-HE280 accelerometer probe adapter
This is one of the main reasons I stopped supporting this. It is too dependent on surface hardness for my requirements and several other factors affect sensitivity that don't cause a problem with FSRs.

Re: Hardened Steel Hobbed Drive Roller?
I've run 20+ spools of CF (not fiberglass) PETG and PLA with no issues on the Bondtech QR extruder. It's - push on both sides of the filament - design is much better for flexibles and abrasive filaments like these.
