Re: mhackney's Real V3 Build Thread

Ok, I've updated all the files on TV and two members have verified the "stock V3" versions work perfectly in the stock V3 base. As an apology for bone-headedness, I created two different small drawers too. So you can choose from a simple drawer or a drawer with nozzle holders for either of...

Re: New Slic3r Prusa Edition (rocks)

Are you designing these parts yourself in Fusion 360? If so, THAT's where to design in the supports. That's what I do. Here's an example - the Z shaped part is the support that keeps the inside flat bottom from failing. The part I'm holding is printed with the thin perimeter facing down, like an ups...

Re: New Slic3r Prusa Edition (rocks)

:) No worries. I am just a bit sensitive to some of the crap people throw on TV. It causes immeasurable problems for people, especially those with not a lot of 3D printing experience. It isn't hard to make a good mesh and verify it. TV should pre-verify and not allow crappy STLs.

Re: New Slic3r Prusa Edition (rocks)

That's too bad, people really should check their models and fix them before posting. Relying on a slicer to fix a mesh is not something I recommend. But IIWII.

Re: Cnc coolant mist

Mine is "green". But, I have to top off with water as it evaporates. I've not had to dispose of the actual coolant since I recirculate it and some gets lost on the swarf when I removed it, requiring me to top off. The residue on the swarf evaporates leaving a greenish powder. My aluminum r...

Re: Cnc coolant mist

I agree, if time is money for you, the commercial unit is the way to go. That's why I bought mine originally. I have flood on 2 mills and "shower curtain" enclosures. Works great but I like the fogbuster best

Re: Cnc coolant mist

I have a comercial FogBuster and I built 2 from that link in the Zone. They all work equally well. There is no magic in the FogBuster design but it is well built.

Re: injection mold machine

What molding machine are you using and what are you injecting? How many parts do you want to get from one mold?

I've retired my SLA printer for another year. The software is still not up to snuff and I don't have a compelling need for the technology to deal with it.

Re: New Slic3r Prusa Edition (rocks)

This is beta but I found it did a great job on the Marvin model (almost a spherical body). Prusa has a very active git for this project so file bugs if you find them. They are seriously overhauling this slicer by storm.

New Slic3r Prusa Edition (rocks)

https://github.com/prusa3d/Slic3r/releases/tag/version_1.33.3 Prusa has been overhauling the venerable Slic3r slicer. The previous release back in Nov was awesome. Not only have they re-written code in C++ to improve performance and reliability, they added some great new features like the cubic 3 di...

Re: Duet setup - instructions in progress

Yes, you have some slop in your motion mechanics somewhere. It could be simple like loose belts or a loose stepper pulley or it could be sloppy arm joints. But something is not tight. Duet's RepRapFirmware (dc42) does not have backlash compensation. Sometimes reducing your acceleration values can he...

Re: RostockMAX V3 to Duet WiFi conversion instructions

I finally gave up and converted my V3 to FSR probing. As much as I worked (and I'm talking 100s of hours) I could not get to the SAME level of reliability as I get with FSRs. That's not to say accelerometer probing doesn't work, it just isn't as robust as I experience with FSRs and since I am printi...

Re: Multi color mod kit?

They start shipping next week I understand and mine goes out in the first batch of shippings. I also learned that one of the reasons for the delay is that Prusa changed the design of he extruder to use the Bondtech dual drive gear and Bondtech is supplying those. That is a fantastic development and ...

I meant the plates that attach to the front of the base cabinet that the 2 drawer print I made above would fit. The FSR Plate will work on all versions of Rostock MAX from V1 to V3, I've verified that already!
