Connector Jacks for Ramps terminal Block
One year into my journey trying to get my Rostock Max to work. I gave up for a while, having another go. After leaving my machine idle for some time (no moving, no bumping) I find that I'm getting no voltage from D9 or D10 The heated bed still works though, so I have a good drinks warmer. I have ord...

Re: Broken Thermistor?
Thanks Eaglez. Printing upgrade parts is not an option for me right now. I've never really had much luck printing anything except test cubes, and right now I can't even extrude. But maybe I can find someone local to print one for me.. For now I will just try and get a working thermistor in the old h...

Re: Broken Thermistor?
Thanks Jim, As far as I know I've been measuring in Centigrade and looking at centigrade in Repetier. Even accounting for the temperate British Climate, -20 is a bit outside standard room temp. range. Especially when the bed reports +22 :) I checked the thermistor at the business end - the actual th...

Re: Broken Thermistor?
Thanks - I tested the resistance. the bed thermistor measures a healthy 100k the hotend thermistor measures 1.9meg?? To the bin it goes!! Failed components so far: PSU - faulty batch Extruder - orginal replaced by vendor on his advice. Bowden Tube: mechanical faliure Thermistor - failed - blown?? It...

Broken Thermistor?
I can't heat my hot end up today.. Repetier is reporting the hot end temperature as -20 something degrees.. That would be a broken thermistor most likely? Does anyone know a way to test a thermistor? I have a "J-head" on it's way to me, so at least I have an alternative, but I will need a ...

Re: Bowden Tube Popping Out
I tried various hacks to stay printing, but I was getting all kinds of random filament outages. The machine would just stop extruding. I suspect this was a result of intermittent constriction of the tube, caused by whatever mechanical pressure was exerted by the quick fixes I tried. So I decided tha...

Re: Bowden Tube Popping Out
the epoxy... does not work.
This machine is busted once again.
I'll be back in a week to a month month depending on how long it takes to get compression fittings.

Re: Bowden Tube Popping Out
Thanks! Bought..
It's all about knowing the right search term - I could not find them myself.
7 to 23 days shipping so it's probably coming from China.

Re: Bowden Tube Popping Out
Btw - when you say Pitot and carabiner, is that a metaphor for your ascent of the reprap tree of knowledge?
Or do you actually use some kind of carabiner contraption as strain releif on the bowden tube?

Re: Bowden Tube Popping Out
Seems like that's the problem - There's a temptation to use some duct tape to hold things together while I wait for a replacement. ;) Speaking to John at seemecnc, I think he told me there's a difference between "old" rostock max compression fittings and "new" rostock max compres...

Bowden Tube Popping Out
I nearly managed a useable print today! but my machine is now down due to the Bowden tube constantly popping off at the extruder end. I don't think the nozzle is jammed - I can push filament through manually. I have been trying the systerm at higher temperatures to see if it's jamming, but i'm well ...

Re: Maybe Belt/Motor Skipping?
Those cubes were 5mm per second as before. I'm working on site with a client, so I can't hang out today. I'll probably do some spread tests of temperature, then maybe test the enigmatic jerk settings

Re: Maybe Belt/Motor Skipping?
25.JPG I have printed a couple of boxes and 1/8th of an owl. Corners look slightly better, but the raised, blobby corner issue is still there. The nozzle grates over the raised blobs of corners or tight curves. this compounds into artefacts that spread upwards into the print. Thanks to everyone for...

Re: Maybe Belt/Motor Skipping?
Thankyou!!
that's got it working!
I have set:
Pid drive max = 205
Pid drive min = 60
(these were the defaults)
I'm doing another pid tune then it's time for a print

I have done the PID tuning many, many, times! :) I guess the tables are different or something - I'll do it again :) Currently I am just putting in the figures from last time I tested in Marlin. I am pretty sure I have the same, normal Thermistor and heater as everyone else. I think I have them set ...

I have since upgraded to a functioning version of 0.91 and the only problem is temperature stuck at 205. Yes, It would be great to find someone who has used a Rostock Max with Ramps. I am availa...

Re: GeraldO's Build
Thanks! It compiled and went onto my Ramps fine, Everything's working that I can check with that firmware: motors, fans, heaters are running. I can't do a complete test yet due to hotend not reaching temp. The hotend may may just be an Eeprom setting I need to learn - or something in the firmware - ...
