Duet app on my iMac
Just upgraded to 3.2. I have an older iMac (software is up to date though). I followed the instructions did the tty thing. After the screen went blank, I pressed enter and got nothing. Installed duet on my iPad as well (as per instructions). When I execute the duet app on my iMac, nothing happens. I...

Re: Homing failure
Flashing the Rambo does the trick, as long as you remember to clear the eeprom first. Once I cleared the eeprom flashing the eeprom worked (using Arduino 1.6 ide)

Temperature drops than def
I have a Rostock V3 and have been fighting this problem for almost a year. I start a print, after awhile, the temperature starts to slowly drop below the target without ever recovering (normally there is always a small fluctuation). Sooner or later, the lcd then reads def and the print is toast. I h...

Re: Homing failure
A bit more to this mystery. I tested each endstop separately with the M119 command and each endstop does appears to be working properly. I got it wrong earlier. The controls section shows the z coordinate to be "-26843..." When I attempt to home, the arms descend a few centimeters and stop...

BTW, a buddy suggested reflashing the firmware. Didn't make a difference.

Homing failure
I am working with support on this one. Just wondering if anyone has had similar problems and if so how you fixed them. My whip was degenerating to the point I needed to replace it. I was getting defs after a few minutes on each print, the whip holder wasn't helping. Finally it started to blow the sm...

Re: Rostock Max w/ He280 Simplify3D settings
I have recently also purchased Simplify3D recently, I'm running into the issue where it won't center the part if you use all the bed. i.e. I can print a part 280mm diameter but if I bring in a part that size the bed has to be set to be about 350mm diameter before it'll center the part on it. At the...

Re: Whip holder fails after a few hours (Max3)
It turns out the 8 part connector was degenerating. I could actually see the second pin was not at the same position as the rest, it must have been getting worse as the printing continued (I do a lot of very long prints). I am hopeful the new whip will be the end of those problems.

Re: Whip holder fails after a few hours (Max3)
Finally found the problem. The whip has lots of stranded wires coming into it. Some of them either broke off and shorted with others or were never really seated that well to begin with. So I am now about to attempt to clean the mess up and hope the printer starts working again. This has been very sq...

Re: Whip holder fails after a few hours (Max3)
That is exactly the problem. Even with the whip holder, a simple touch can cause it to lose connection. What is really frustrating is that it prints fine for several hours and I am never there when it goes def or stops dead without a message. I am hoping to bring it in. I bought it pre-assembled in ...

Whip holder fails after a few hours (Max3)
I have been having problems with def appearing after many hours. Finally determined that the whip that connects to the HE280 loses connection with the thermistor. This has become really sensitive. Anyone else have this problem? If so how did you fix it? Also having a problem printing the whip holder...

Re: def has started to appear frequently destroying prints
So, replacing the heated bed worked until now. Last night, tried to start a print. Was going well for about 30 minutes then def appeared. I shut down everything and went to sleep. So now I am trying again. Now the bed just won't heat up. It shows the bed temperature but never changes. I suppose that...

Yup, did an autotune. Put the codes in the initial script - I use S3D I am using the same H280 that I have been using for the last several months.

Bizzar nozzle temperature behavior
I've been having trouble with the dreaded "def" appearing. I put in a new hotbed and that appeared to solve the problem. Now the nozzle temperature goes wild every once in awhile with the temperature bouncing up and down up to 20 C. Sometimes it stabilizes again and other times apparently ...

Re: def has started to appear frequently destroying prints
So I finally figured it out. One of the pads for the thermistor separated from the bed. The Kapton tape held it down, but not that well. I have tried to solder it back, but the solder won't hold since the pad is gone. Anyway, I ordered a new bed. That should do the trick.

Re: def has started to appear frequently destroying prints
Thanks. I was careful with the PTFE tubing. I noticed several things that may or may not be relevant. First the temperature stops to dip and won't go back up just before the def appears. Secondly I noticed that the solder for one of the white wires that connects to the mainboard didn't look too shin...

Re: def has started to appear frequently destroying prints
This has become really weird. I am getting the def after about 30 minutes. What is weird is that after I press the reset button to stop the print so the heaters turn off, it then reports the correct temperature again. Of course, the print is ruined at that point, luckily it didn't get very far. I am...

Re: def has started to appear frequently destroying prints
So it turns out it is in the thermistor on the bed (nozzle may be an issue too, I will keep a lookout for that as well). I went over all the wiring, reseated everything I could. When I got to the bed I noticed that the kapton tape over the thermistor in the center of the bed was loose. I put another...

def has started to appear frequently destroying prints
I used to be able to print with my Max V3 for 30+ hours. Now after about 2 hours I get the def on the temperature display and the print is gone. I have also noticed that the nozzle and bed temps appear to be varying much more than normal. This has started to degenerate within the last 3 or 4 days. A...

Re: What I have learned about dual extrusion
I am having trouble when switching filaments. It appears that the y-connector can jam even when there does not appear to be anything in the way. I have chamfered the outside of the bowden tubes but I still get resistance when pushing the filament down through the y-connector. Anyone else noticing th...

Re: Parts and steps needed for a Bondtech QR upgrade
So I'm considering upgrading to a bondtech extruder, but I'm not 100% on what parts I need to get. Which one of these ( http://shop.bondtech.se/ec/extruders/bondtech-qr-175-universal.html ) should I be getting (as far as the cable setup)? What about the adapters and mount? I'll probably print my ow...

What happened??
I am enclosing a photo of a print that dies a mysterious death. It started just fine, good adhesion. It was doing fine for over an hour so I worked in another part of my home for a few hours and came back to this. This has happened consistently for the last few times I have tried to print. It looks ...
