Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
I can ship a one square foot in the US for $8.00. in a small flat rate box, or enough for 3 beds, which is a little over 7" by 24" long for $15.00. The later would ship Priority mail as well, but not a flat rate box. Same price would apply to Denmark for 3 bed size, but would be shipped Fi...

Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
Okay, guys. I have several of these packed up. 1 square foot per small flat rate box. I can ship more than 1 foot if you need, but will need to figure out the cost according to where you live. I am looking into the cheapest way to send this to Denmark as well. I'll holler back when I know. Just shoo...

You guys at H1 may want to get a roll of this and ship the correct size along with the circuit boards. You would get quite a few of these from one roll.

I had a lot of warping as well. Even with phenolic table until I installed this insulation. It may be new, but I bought this a couple months ago.

Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
It's 2 foot wide.
It will compress some. I will check and see how much of it I can stuff in a small box.

Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
Right, but several feet of this will not fit in a small flat rate box.
Medium would be the standard for more than a foot or two. I can also ship parcel post. It will take longer, but be cheaper.

Anything over 3/4" thick cannot be classified as a letter. It must be a package.TKL wrote:Just send as letter. That is much cheaper. Yeh Denmark is beautiful. On the downside we got cold and rainy weather and world record in tax
I can send cheaper, but will need to research that some.

Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
Shipping to Denmark will cost more with Flat rate. I will check into the shipping costs. Off topic, BTW my first wife and I got married in Odensee. Beautiful place. Beautiful wife. Just trying to remember the good times. :) You will wind up paying mostly for shipping. Not trying to profit, but make ...

Oh it would definitely hold the heat in, but most guys need to actually cool that part to keep the heat from getting to the extruder mounting carriage.
If you are having trouble keeping it up to temp, then this might work.

Not sure how you mean to use it.
It can be used as a gasket. This stuff is basically like a sheet of cotton, but much denser. Feels pretty heavy for what it is.

Right. I have a base, then insulation, then PCB, then glass. When the bed is heated to 110 C, the base isn't even warm. This is some good stuff. This is what it is. "Flexible Ceramic Insulation The flexible option when insulating against extreme heat, this ceramic insulation can be used as a wr...

This stuff looks like white cotton sheet and they call it 1/4" thick.
Just copy that number and input that into the search and it should let you know what this is.
I can take a few pictures if needed.

Re: (Group Buy) for 7"x7.5" Heated Bed
If any of you guys want some nice insulation for these, I bought a roll of it already from McMaster Carr.
I will never use it all.
I will sell it by the square foot.
It's nice stuff.

Thanks, John. I am a frequent flyer at the Zone. I could not have built all my cnc machines without the members and resources available there. With the guards, it seems every time I step up production with a new machine, orders increase by the same factor, so there has always been a lead time on tho...

Re: Heated bed temp
I don't understand all the things about it. I know the 24 VDC is a Condor linear supply and the 12 VDC can be adjusted some and is a switching type. Typical cnc machine supply made in China. Not that the later has any bearing on how it works. Both work well. I didn't have a meter on it when it was c...

Re: Heated bed temp
Sounds like you could do with a larger power supply, amp wise. Mine is a 30 amp supply and it gets the bed to 110 C in a couple minutes. Unless his supply is crowbarring or cutting out, he needs more volts, not amps. Whether he's got an 12v 8A supply or 12v 30A supply, if the heater only draws 6A, ...

Don't expect the circuit board to stay flat when heated. Also count on any plastic that close will also warp. BTDT.

Those are generally what I call growing pains. :) I don't know of anyone who has built a machine without at least some problems. Just the nature of the beast. I don't have an H-1, but a Prusa and several other shop made cnc machines. I am relating this so that you know you can expect some problems a...

Re: How to connect to computer
I tried them before with Mach and they are no go. You can use Mach 3 with USB, but you need a different USB drive device like Smooth stepper. There are a couple others as well in development. You won't find PP's on newer computers unless you build your own. Many do add additional cards. I have as we...
