Re: OctoPrint Delta Calibration Plugin!

Is there a typo in the Readme.me file? You capitalize the 'I' in 'pI' instead of 'pi' in the path of the pip command:

/home/pI/oprint/bin/pip install https://github.com/geneb/OctoPrint-Delt ... master.zip

It wouldn't work for me until I fixed to the lower case 'pi'.

Re: Quick guide to setting up the ZestyTech nimble on the Rostock MAX V2 or V3

Ramai, I'm both happy and sad to hear we are seeing the same thing!! :D See my other post I created in the troubleshooting section for more info, but I have resolved my problem for now. With the current turned up to 180 in firmware I can get reliably up to 15 mm/sec retraction speed which will be go...

Re: Extruder EEPROM settings not being effective

Thanks, Ryan and Mac, and I agree with you both. Math says that extruder retraction at 15 mm/sec with 730 steps/mm (4 microsteps) generates about 10,000 counts per second which is near the limit for a Rambo according to what I could find on the internet. I may try no micro steps which would reduce t...

Re: Extruder EEPROM settings not being effective

The problem seems to be tied to the steps per mm setting. If I use a setting under a 100, like the default setting for the SeeMe EZstruder, then I can see a difference in motor behavior by adjusting the max start feed rate and acceleration. But when I increase the steps per mm by about double, then ...

Re: Quick guide to setting up the ZestyTech nimble on the Rostock MAX V2 or V3

Update. Still no progress after talking with many folks. The acceleration control does work if I turn the steps per mm down from 730 to 100 or so, but doesn't work at the high step rate required to calibrate correctly with 4 micro steps. Ramai: what Rambo board and firmware are you running? I have a...

Re: Extruder EEPROM settings not being effective

Thanks, G. With the motor disconnected mechanically I get the same results. So this isn't a mechanical resistance problem. When I switch from the Zesty-supplied motor to the motor on the stock EZstruder I also get the same results: stalling when the speed is around 7-9 mm/sec. So the motor is not to...

Extruder EEPROM settings not being effective

I'm trying to get a Zesty extruder up and running and it won't extrude faster than 7 mm/sec without stalling. I'm repeating my problem here in the hopes that someone [expert at firmware sees it, because I think this is a general repetier issue. The EEPROM values for extruder 1 steps/mm and maximum e...

Re: Quick guide to setting up the ZestyTech nimble on the Rostock MAX V2 or V3

Many thanks for taking the time to help. Yes, I am making the changes near the bottom where all the extruder-1 changes are kept. The ones at the top are for the XYZ axis motors. Here is an example of the EEPROM when I tried even lower jerk and acceleration settings. Send: N173 M205*33 Recv: ok Recv:...

Re: Quick guide to setting up the ZestyTech nimble on the Rostock MAX V2 or V3

Just tried the newest firmware from GitHub pointed to by SeeMe. Erased EEPROM too. all your changes are in. It won't extrude faster than F500 (8.3 mm/sec). Changes to jerk and acceleration don't seem to make any difference. I'm stuck here. I can print but only retract at 6 mm/sec to avoid stalling. ...

Re: Quick guide to setting up the ZestyTech nimble on the Rostock MAX V2 or V3

Thanks, I updated the micro stepping and motor currents to match your guide. My steps/mm came out to 730 using a digital scale to measure 500 mm of extrusion (1.51 grams). But the start speed (jerk) and acceleration settings in EEPROM don't make any difference. I have run down to 0.02 mm/s and 5 mm/...

Re: Quick guide to setting up the ZestyTech nimble on the Rostock MAX V2 or V3

Hmm, not working for me. The steps per mm and max extrusion speed changes are being recognized, but when I edit the EEPROM settings for starting speed and acceleration the printer won't change its behavior. I am also running 16 micro steps and 2772 steps per mm. Could that be why? I have also lowere...

Re: Rostock Max v3 enclosure

You could hold the door on with magnets like this. A hinge may have been better. I think you can purchase acrylic piano hinge online that can be welded to your sheets. The acrylic solvent #3 works great on this type of material. https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1992801 http://www.usplastic.com/cata...

Re: At wits end with first layer issues

I think your flow of filament is stalling. This used to happen to me quite a lot on the HE280. I consider it a design weakness. Filament flows OK at first but then becomes almost impossible to push through the extruder. In my case the bowden tube was partially backing out creating a gap in the heat ...

Dr. Hackney, do you have a mid-term report on the performance of the Nimble? Are you still using it :?:

Re: My Zesty Nimble review...

Eddy, I would say both are great solutions to remove the bowden tubes. There is no substitute for the excellent control you get with the extruder motor right on the HE, but you have to deal with the flying weight. If you do most of your printing at say 40 mm/sec or slower this is perfectly fine. The...

MRRF was Awesome

This was the first MRRF from me and my daughter and we had an absolute blast! From all accounts is was nearly double the size of last year at over 1200 registrants by noon on Saturday. All the exhibitor tables in the main hall were full by about 6 pm on Friday and the organizers opened the adjacent ...

Re: HE280 upgrade problems. Need help!

If nothing is working it could be a fuse on the Rambo. There is one large ATC fuse and two small fuses on the board.

Also, the motors won't move if the end stop switches are closed. Check the switches with an ohmmeter to confirm they are not closed.

Good luck

Re: Heated Bed Not Heating?

Double check the power leads on the RAMBO to the ONYX. You may simply have a loose wire. Try tugging them out of the connector first to see if they aren't tight. (with the power off)

I have another disaster to mention. Now I used the spatula a bit to forcefully and the PEI seems to have lifted a bit, so now my bed is uneven and I can start all-over... I had this same problem and found a solution. I back-drilled a very small (1/32") hole through my aluminum plate to the adh...

Re: SSR keeps blowing on 24V Heated bed

Do you know some good SSR's on amazon which aren't garbage? I prefer buying there very much, and haven't found Auber ones there. Since this much heat (500W) could start a fire I chose to spend the extra $$$ on the Crydom from Digikey. I also built a safety circuit using a normally open 24V relay an...

Re: Heated Bed won't shut off Rostock V3

The bed heats up as soon as the hot end reaches temperature and drops to the bed to print. Check the MatterControl settings under Printer->Custom G-code->Start G-code. You may have the default code in there which sets a fixed temperature for the bed and or extruder. I suggest the following: Start G...

Re: Heated Bed Not Heating?

The set point registers on the control panel, but the heater LED doesn't blink and the bed doesn't heat. Ok, so the controller is commanding the RAMBO to send current to bed. When you confirm the set point is registering on the display and it should be heating, check the output voltage to the ONYX ...

Re: Looking for more precision

Wow, OK. Lots of great info there for a delta. Screw drive would give another ~10x resolution than a pulley/belt drive, but the tradeoff would be speed, correct? Or are there other considerations when using screw drive on a delta? Joe mentioned an XY type printer. That may be easier to scratch build...
