Updating my upgraded H-1 with H-1.1 parts

So far no issues other than pulling my heated bed apart and mangling the table a bit. I've got everything back together and it all slides much smoother. I'll be spending the next few days replacing the perm-a-temp wiring I had with something a lot more permanent so I can focus on printing and not ad...

Re: I MISS MY PRINTER!

That would be nice and I have actually thought of that but once I load up my luggage and laptops there isn't much room for anything else in my lil red car. As it stands, my printer is almost completely disassembled. I have new quick connects for electrical, the new hot end rebuilt with a new smaller...

I MISS MY PRINTER!

I haven't touched my printer in almost 6 weeks now and have serious withdrawal. Unfortunately work has me on the road every week and I'll be travelling for the next 2. Then I'll have a break for a few weeks then more travel through the Summer. Weekends are spent with the4 family and getting honey-do...

Which resistor I have to reduce (R5 or R7) ???

Thanks,

You need to short R5 to get the higher temps.

The first ones I made out of sheet aluminum didn't last very long.
These ones have been going strong for more than a month now.

Circuit board testing I take it?

Re: Broke my hot end tonight...

Thanks John,

But when my wife wasn't looking I grabbed it and held it over the gas stove for a few minutes and let it burn the PEEK out. I now am reassembling it and just got done with the RTV on the thermister. Hopefully when I get back in town Friday night I can get the rest of it back together.

Re: Broke my hot end tonight...

So I *had* 2 days home between trips and still haven't had a chance to touch my printer. I'm hoping for this afternoon when the storm comes in and its just me and the Mrs. in the house. My current problem is getting the rest of the melted PEEK out of the aluminum part of the hot end. Even with denta...

Re: limit switch brackets

try printing 2 or 3 at a time. That will help cool the print between layers.

Re: Using the Velleman MK138 with a heated print bed

I had ordered one of those as in the specifications it said it would also run on 12 vdc. Well the version sent only ran on 110. So if you want to run it on 12vdc check the EXACT part number.

I posted these in another post but I thought I would get a thread going here so that we can all compare settings.

Re: Thingiverse item 1481 - A-Mazing box - lookin' good!

It looks like that cover would be a bear to print. Print too fast and the layers won't have time to cool down and they'll start sagging.

Nice job.

Maybe these pictures will get you in the right direction. Keep in mind that my EasyDriver board I have wired backwards on accident so pins 16 and 17 in Mach are reversed.

Re: Essential H-1 Accessories

kapton tape (if you are printing on it)
Volt meter for setting hot end temp
Thermocouple for above volt meter to verify hot end temp
Shuttle Pro 2 for jogging all 4 axis a wee bit easier than just the keyboard.

Re: Hot end

I can tell you that if you are printing ABS that you should see 3.7vdc to 3.9vdc between pin 12 on the IC and ground on the Velleman board. That corresponds to about 200C at the hot end.
