Cleaning extruder

To my surprise I could not find information on properly cleaning the exterior of the extruder. Plenty on clearing a clogged nozzle, but that's not my issue. I want to remove all the burnt filament and caked up residue on the outside of the nozzle and the square part it screws into. Can anyone share ...

Re: Problem during autocalibration

Got a reply from SeemeCNC that resolved everything. They suggested checking the boden tube length. As simple as it was, I overlooked that as a potential cause of my problem, stupid on my part. Sure enough the tube was too short and before it reached the Y tower to begin it's calibration the tube was...

Problem during autocalibration

V2 with upgrade and accelerometer. Using autocalibration, it comes down near the X tower touching the glass and bouncing back, then when it touches the glass near the Y tower (second position) it skips and ends up at the edge of the glass. This causes it to start over and the same thing happens unti...

Re: Problem since updating Matter Control

Appears most recent update of MC is written for features found on the Max V3 printer i.e. leveling probe. I've bought the update features and will install them but for now simply going back to the previous version of MC.

Problem since updating Matter Control

Right after updating Matter Control my Rostock Max V2 disconnects before the heated bed reaches temperature. Using ABS with a bed temp of 110. Upon opening Matter Control I get an error message: ....accelerometer send i2c error.... Never got this message until the update.

Re: What is causing this?

O.K. I've figured it out, MOISTURE. After a lot of research I have determined moisture is the demon I'm dealing with. The popular solution seems to be a product called Eva-Dry, a silica based device that you put into the enclosed space and it draws out the moisture. I bought several and put one in m...

Re: What is causing this?

I used up the last of my filament from MatterHackers and then started a fresh spool from Seemecnc. The MatterHackers print had a lot of the "bubbles" the Seemecnc print had only a few. No popping sound (as I am familiar with from printing Nylon with moisture). The spool from Seemecnc went ...

What is causing this?

Printing on my new Rostock Max V2 and loving it, but my prints have this happening (see pic). Not sure what is causing it and would sure appreciate some help. My guesses are extrusion retraction rate or flow rate but would like to address it straight away rather than experiment to find a solution. T...
