Re: Rostock Max V3 Build with minor mods

You probably should have worked the code first before feeding it 24v. There is more 3d printers that use the same RAMBo, with higher voltages than that even.

Re: Rostock Max V3 Build with minor mods

Turns out it wasn't the fan, but this chip on the accel probe board that sparked up when I had everything hooked to 24v. And I never had it heat the extruder or bed, it just died from the Rambo being fed 24v. So if you wanna save $30, don't hook 24v to the Rambo if you have an accel probe board! It...

Re: Rostock Max V3 Build with minor mods

But you can control the output current with the PWM modulation, right? I think that's exactly why it has it in the first place... But i've understand why the SSR... Baseline is to output more power than the RAMBo can run it... So for a full 24v swap, just fine tune PID bed, PID extruder, limit fan s...

Re: Rostock Max V3 Build with minor mods

You're saying that the RAMBo can't handle more power output in those pins? Because if i'm not mistaken the current should remain the same as it is controlled by the board itself ... In the RAMBo specs they do not mention such technique. The only parameter is 15A with 24v... This should output theore...

Re: Rostock Max V3 Build with minor mods

You should tune the motors, and replace the heater cartridge completely (Otherwise it will be 4X powerful and blow things up). I would also advise that you replace the fans, and you MUST use a solid state relay to switch the bed voltage. You'll also need to redo a lot of the PID thanks to the much ...

Re: Straight Line Fail

There was some resistance in the movement, but nothing drastically. I've sanded the inside of the arms to get them very flat, put a little sewing machine oil in the joints and a small heat shrink in the U part of the U-joint to garantee that they are well fixed and wont accidentally stepout of the a...

Re: Straight Line Fail

Code: Select all

Have you tried slowing down the print speed?
It happen already in the first layer with 5mm/s movements... So probably its not tension in the effector from the movement or sharp corners...

Re: Straight Line Fail

I'm using the aluminium U-joints... Tried the retangle with the same dimensions, same result as the part. Well, I've installed a Z-height caliper to check the bed for unusual geometry and such and the following thing is happening when i'm jogging around, i don't know if its related with this problem...

Re: Straight Line Fail

I've calibrated the bed using the Steven Rowland tutorial ( https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=im5MDpTkzCM ), and the problem still persist, only this time is way less diference than before... The good part is that the first layers now have better quality. Gene, you have a good understanding on the del...

Re: Straight Line Fail

Looks great your print! Yeah, i think it's a mechanical problem... as Qdeathstar said, looking at the effector plataform it tilts a small amount to the right while doing the movement, i believe it's the joint between the aluminium holder and the plastic arms... I didnt sand the excess plastic of the...

Re: Straight Line Fail

When you view the layers in the slicer, do you see the same anomaly? No, just in the print. In the slicer looks all good... But read below and i'll try to explain why i cogitated this... I do not understand what you see a a slicing error? The wider spaced lines are auto generated support created by...
