@plasma: Here are the STL´s. Endcaps are now for 10mm dia carbon rods, Effector for E3D V6 Effector3.STL Endcap 10mm.STL Cheapskate Adapter.STL Inside the Endcaps you can place only magnets with 8mm diameter or smaller if I remember right. cheers Dirk I know this thread is a little old, but I'm wor...

Re: Non HE280 accelerometer upgrade

That makes sense. I don't have a problem coding it, but my preference is to use as much stock as possible. This one was like $5.00 so I figured I'd give it a try. Thanks for the clarification.

Non HE280 accelerometer upgrade

So I didn't feel too keen to buy the HE280, cabling and rewire my v2. I looked at the wiring diagram and config.h code and figured that any accelerometer that communicated with SDA and SCL would work. So I picked up this one on amazon. UCTRONICS MPU-6500 6-Axis Sensor Module Gyroscope Accelerometer ...

How to use Cura 2.4 with the Rostock Max v2

First off I wanted to link to two previous threads since they involve a lot of the trouble shooting that went in to getting the Max v2 to work with Cura. http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=11454 http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=56&t=10396 Cura 2.4 now has some fun new fe...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

I've been printing with 2.1.2 for the last couple months. Pretty much everything I did to get it working is documented above. I will probably update to 2.1.3 and can put together a guide with settings and such. I've found that sd card printing is the best way to go. I recently set up octopi so what ...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

I haven't updated to 2.1.3 yet, but everything should work just like 2.1.2. I like Cura a lot. It is my go to slicer. There are a few things were MatterSlice slice works better but overall Cura is awesome. One thing I don't like is when I open a file it resizes it down to like 93% of the size. I hav...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

Success!!!!! Thank you guys for your help. I've completed several successful prints. I'll post pics later. There's still a lot of tweak as far as settings go. The Cura defaults seem to be set high for some things and low for others when compared to my Matter Control settings. The extrusion multiplie...

Re: Rostock MAX™ v2 for son

Agreed on the manual, and the comments. Build stock first, using the instructions from Gene. There is nothing quite as satisfying as building the printer, and then printing the PEEK fan shroud. Insanely cool. I have put plenty of hours in with the base unit and am now calibrating my upgrades. I don...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

Okay I think I figured it out. For some reason it was still loading my old json file and not the updated one. I uninstalled Cura and added the new printer profile and ran my gcode for the test cube and this is what I got. It looks a lot better now. I'll give this a spin this afternoon. If it works t...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

You are right. I pulled the gcode of the test cube from mattercontrol using the cura slicer and Cura. The x y coordinates are definitely off. Thanks for the clarification on the hot end settings. I'll try your json when I get home today. Could there be something in my EEPROM or Repitier code I need ...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

I got it working, can't test right now though. Should work, you can check out what I changed. RostockMaxV2.json.zip Thanks for the code. I tried it and it still heads over to between the y z towers. I've attached the gcode since it should give better insight as to what is going on. I'm still new to...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

I'm also on OS X so I'll try messing around with it. I'm pretty sure I know whats wrong and I can check it out soon. edit: which version are you using? I have 2.1.2 and I put the .json file in the correct spot (new location is Content/Resources/cura/resources/...) and I edited it so the center is 0...

Re: New version: 2.1.2

I have been playing around with the latest release of Cura and I agree there are a lot of great settings to play with and a lot of potential. I am fairly new to 3d printing but have a programming background so I wasn't afraid to take a stab at the json files and configuration to make the Max v2 work...

Re: Hello world

Xenocrates Thanks for the links to the enclosures. I actually was planning on print the ones you made. I have a makeshift poor mans enclosure that I made from my surround sound speaker cardboard. I also thought that it would be relatively easy to make one with black foamboard. I might just do it ju...

Hello world

Just finished building my Rostock Max V2 and have been printing up a storm. I am new to the 3d printing world but I've been researching 3D printers for quite some time. I decided to pull the trigger and get the Rostock. I am so glad I did. I'd seen so many botched 3d prints from all kinds of 3d prin...
