Re: ERIS is a pain in the butt .

For who he wants to listen....the most affordable printer in the world(eris 3d printer) is affordable but very unreliable, it breaks apart more so often that you can imagine, it is fragile made, the bed leveling process is not working , the gcode commands are working erraticly and when you think yo...

Re: Honest Review: SeeMeCNC Eris Delta Printer

Great review. Yea I have had so many issues with the auto level that I have mostly given up on it and just use software leveling in mattercontrol. Completely destroyed the print surface sheet that came on the glass.. about 80% of the time when leveling at least one point some reason was under the pr...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Personally I feel the cooling needs to be stronger over all.. I generally print with a small desk fan pointed at the print as well most of the time.

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Hi Mac-the-Knife, I have a question for you. I have a spare RepRap Discount LCD left over from my Kossel build, after I replaced it with a Full-Graphics controller. Would this LCD by any chance, be compatible with the Mini-Rambo board on the Eris? Thanks in advance. Regards. If you get this working...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

I have literally run calibration 40x now since I have had the printer.. and only one time I ever had a *good* level and that was lost when I updated the firmware.. :(

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

If you're trying to turn the extruder with the stepper motor energized, then yes, you'll destroy the knob. :) g. You are not the only one to do so, JATMIN. Yea and its hard to tell when its not energized half the time.. only ever tried to turn it when it was in what I would have assumed to be an of...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Anyone else have had the above issue with the EZ-Struder, and the other two problems I've noticed? Perhaps you've had more creative solutions than I could come up with. I did notice the air gap you mentioned.. check the other 2 sides as well mine has slight gaps all around. I believe the newer ones...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Well, in 5 minutes of looking around, I'd say it's not plug-and-play, but quite the DIY project. Your first issue will be just connecting it to your mini-rambo. The display is interfaced via I2C, which means you'll need to find which header has the i2c pins (too important a function to leave out, s...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Printed using my s3d profile set to about 30mms and temp at 215c for this Filament. Not enough infill for the base though.. but not bad. As was off the print bed not clean up. Have you made any updates to your S3D profile? It was under-extruding for me when I tried it this weekend. Were you using t...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

So... does anyone know how to enable OLED in the firmware on this thing? <3 I tried putting a reprapdiscount full graphic display on the printer over the weekend but found that the support for it might have been removed from the firmware? I had ordered a nice little OLED display awhile back and it ...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Ok I have updated my most recent Simplify3D profile. Been running it all day with quite good results (see attached pictures) I will mention I run a desk fan while printing as well. Cant figure out why the smoke stack is coming out like it does on this profile, need to do some more tuning. But I feel...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

There is nothing "trick" about it. Sorry you had a problem but your calibration was that far off that any print would drill your platform. https://github.com/repetier/Repetier-Firmware/wiki/G-codes Added the comments here G21 ; Units for G0/G1 are mm G90 ; Use absolute coordinates M82 ; S...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Again, really sorry you had a problem and if you post your profile we could take a look. While everybody has their own ideas about gcode in general, i don't think my startup script was any more dangerous than others. No worries not fond of the surface mat anyhow.. I think the printer just freaked o...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Well that was unexpectedly dangerous.. Tried Jetguys FFF profile. I like the start script.. load it in my profile.. and was dumb and walked away after starting a print.. come back and there is 2 holes in my bed now.. apparently some reason it wants to go bellow the bed surface for the priming and st...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

Nice! ok, yea very early. Mines #45 and had changes since yours, and there has been changes since mine. Yea swappable hotend would be nice. But I honestly feel cooling should be a priority.. if you can get better cooling on this thing the printing possibilities on this printer will raise its cost to...

Re: ERIS Early adopter feedback

I'm still playing at this point and yes, the stock nozzle is 0.5mm so my S3D profile is not technically correct, although that was giving me nice looking prints, not "dimensionally accurate". My test cube was slightly oversize in XY (20.12mm). FWIW, I ran into every problem I've seen in t...
