Are you kidding me? We bought three hot ends and it's YOUR design that's at fault?
I cannot explain just how much I detest your company.

Re: ABS vs PLA help!
I wittingly called it a V2.5, since it's the v2 with the v3 hot end.
What -should- the fan settings be at for bridging PLA in Simplify3D?
Also: The v2 has your first print be shrouds for the fans. Does the v3 need these as well?

ABS vs PLA help!
Everything I've ever read suggests that ABS is more finicky than PLA, especially for the Rostock Max. Right. I've found the exact opposite. The only ABS issue I have is if I forget to shut off our ceiling fan and ambient temps (winds) cause uneven cooling cracks. PLA has NEVER produced the same resu...

Re: Delete Me
It really -is- a much ado about nothing that, since I deleted the original isssue, is pointless to impart, since it was something I screwed up and something I fixed, and something that no one with sense would ever do anyway.

Tried again using S3D. I 'Translated' all the settings from MatterControl into the new host.
This is interesting...

Here's a different test print. This is why I say I don't think bridging is the issue... Re: Reopening the HellMouth...
Let's see if I can address everything... I'm printing at 210. This is the temp JJ from SeeMeCNC says they print PLA at at their shop on this printer. I assume the folks who work at SeeMeCNC know what they're doing. I have not checked it with a meter. **Correction, sort of. I've measured the temp wit...

Reopening the HellMouth...
So after a few weeks of cooling off, here's what I have: (See Attachments) After a long, apparently inconclusive (it turned 5:00 and JJ stopped responding--and hasn't today) email session with support, it appears I'm still screwed. What's (still) annoying is that the printer does -some- bits just fi...

Re: About to throw this thing out the window.
Not sure how to set up Craftware. It installed to the PC, looked for a printer that wasn't there, and promptly did nothing else. Seems Craftware merged with CraftPrint. Or I downloaded Wrong Things. Which seems more likely.

Re: About to throw this thing out the window.
So: AstroPrint still has issues, but not the major splooge blobs that MatterControl left. There's stringing--in both different and the same places as the other, but some things are certainly better. Some are worse. At least we know it's a dynamic issue. So tomorrow, when my wife has more patience an...

Re: About to throw this thing out the window.
Sadly, no. We've thought of that as well. We recalibrate every time we change filament, though--even if it's the same kind.

Re: About to throw this thing out the window.
Okay... Seriously and no sarcasm in sight: We appreciate the input. We've only been changing one setting at a time, or in the latest case used the same settings but We've changed the slicer. Just to see if the same thing happens. ...and it seems like it's better. And worse. Same issue, just in diffe...

Re: About to throw this thing out the window.
This has been a multi-user effort between my wife & I. I'm trying AstroPrint at the moment just to see if it does anything any differently. At least then I should know, in theory, if it's the slicer or the printer. (I'll try KISS--it's only that AstroPrint was what we had lying around) I see it'...

Re: About to throw this thing out the window.
We've been printing stuff with varying (mostly diminishing) degrees of success since we built it in January. This stringing is an inconsistent issue. Some times it doesn't happen at all. We can print the boxes in https://www.matterhackers.com/articles/retraction-just-say-no-to-oozing with no issues ...
