Re: Why?
Well, personally I think trying to compete with China in the low end of the market is sort of foolish. They are going to win that market. I was hoping the hacker series would be the v3 without electronics, hotend, extruder... or maybe an all metal high end printer with 32 bit electronic. If your loo...

Re: Print 3dlabprint Airplanes and Rostock Max - any success?
Well, matterhackers stuff is usually pretty good, i have been using their ABS for a while, but i needed some transparent blue and all they had for that was PLA.... I had used hatchbox filament before, and i got good results, but i found with ABS the matterhackers non-pro abs performed better than th...

Re: Print 3dlabprint Airplanes and Rostock Max - any success?
What PLA are you using? I got some Pro PLA from matter hackers that has been a huge pain in the ass, in the same color as your plastic. (transluscent blue) I ended up increasing the temp to 225 and getting rid of retractions and it seems to print OK now... I would suspect my themistor settings are w...

Re: Expecting to much from the Max V3?
i love my v2, i have a newer edition of it so it's basically a v3 except the main differences are a different hot end and better frame. I love my v2, but, i still get a failed print for every 4-5 prints. I don't mind them, and i'm sure with more experience i can do better. Most things are failed bec...

Re: Do you earn significant money with 3D printing?
$5.00 plus .30 cent/cm^3 i think if you are trying to make money with 3d printing cad design or printing something and selling it is the way to go, especially with fdm printers. I think most people that know and care about quality and are willing to pay a premium for it are going to want an sls prin...

i agree about the power connectors on the duet wifi, they do feel kind of wonky, but they seem to work ok.

Re: Do you earn significant money with 3D printing?
i mainly do this for fun, i make my 3dhubs cost the lowest price around just to get orders because it's fun to print, so i'm not in it for the money, but i still make a profit. I've made a lot of things for my personal use that i could not have bought.. so i am happy in that respect. I made a custom...

Re: Why not .4mm nozzle?
If your still wondering whether or not the duet is worth it, if you throw out every single feature they advertise (better software, 32 bit electronics, better support, the best autocalibration routine, - nice web interface, etc) It is still worth the price. It makes the steppers (movement of the arm...

What's the longest duration print you have attempted
I got a 27hr print going atm, which lead me to wonder what is the largest thing you've ever printed on the romax, and how long did it take.
Also, why do things printed vertically take a lot longer that if they are printed flat? It would seem that the same amount of plastic needs to be extruded....

Re: Bad spool of PLA/PHA? Noob question.
Honestly, i've never had any issues with bad PLA..... I've used the cheap stuff and the nice stuff, and while the nice stuff is, well, better, the cheap stuff usually works OK. That's pretty bad. SeeMeCNC generally has great support so i'm sure they will solve your issues, assuming it was purchased ...

Re: Weight versus length
I have paused the print, pulled out the old filament and put the longer piece in and resumed printing, The results after a moderate amount of sanding were good. My only issue was that i was shining LEDS through it, and you could tell the difference in quality between matterhackers and hatchbox filam...

Rmax2 80steps/mm OR 82.5steps/mm
Easy question, and im pretty sure it is 80steps/mm but what is the stock steps/mm for a Rostock V2... for some reason earlier i have put 82.5steps/mm as the steps for the x,y, and z towers, but I am having problems with the z-values not being "high" enough and the nozzle dipping into the p...
