Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie

2) how changing those values to probe a wider diameter would impact the rest of the factors comprising the calibration code? I think you would specify the diameter in the app. You might have to reverse the numbers (change the + to - and - to +) depending on how you have measured (The html version h...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie

Thanks terabyte! Doesn't 626Pilot's script require a smoothi instead of RAMBo? Re modifying the g-code - man, I have no clue how to go about figuring out those coordinates or modifying the g-code, and i have to admit, the prospect of learning seems pretty daunting. Perhaps there's not other way. Do...

Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print

I am in the process of cleaning it all up and then its going on Ebay I think. I have not known anything that is so time hungry for so little payback. I am sure someone who has the spare time, inclination and headache tablets will make far more of it than I have. It is too bad that you do not have t...

Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print

I hate crappy compilers. The code generators never do what I want. They're junk. g. I would say that this is hilarious if it were not true. People tend to hate something that is supposed to work, but it doesn't, despite what the book says or what we think. After all, compilers are made by a combine...

Thanks, I did not miss the Chapter during the assembly. Perhaps, this should be the Chapter 1 :) I do agree that it is extremely useful.

I whipped up this filament/arm length calibration method JUST FOR YOU: http://www.thingiverse.com/thing:1439048" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; ...Okay, it's not just for you. Wow thanks for doing this! It looks very concise and serious. I think it is the first time when I'...

Re: New Replicape board is available

Have anybody made it work yet? I am trying to put it together myself, but I am temporarily stuck with configuring wifi, which works, but the configuration is lost after a reboot. However, I am more interested in positive (hopefully there are no negatives :D ) experiences, if anyone wants to share. I...

Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print

Yeah, 20-30mm/sec is good for the first layer max speed. I would also use that for the outer loop speed... I think OP is talking about the retraction speed. Although 100mm/s for the retraction is also way too fast. Printing at faster speeds is possible, but it brings in even more variables that hav...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie

I was thinking OpenDACT would be the answer, but was not able to get it working, and must give up on it till I can get access to another windows computer. Although I haven't tried it myself yet, I would suggest trying heuristic calibration by 626Pilot http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=82&am...

Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print

I don't think I was ever able to print on an E3D v6 with more than ~2.5mm of retraction. After awhile - maybe 20 minutes or so - it would heat-soak the upper reaches of the hot end, and the filament would jam. If I had to guess this is the problem that OP has experienced with the jamming-the retrac...

Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print

If you're using the stock SeeMe hot end, that's probably why. The E3D v6 is a far better hot end. I think he is using E3D, but I had good results with PLA on stock hot end too. I agree on all accounts about E3D, higher temps was a good enough reason for me to upgrade. As far as retraction goes, if ...

Re: Diary of a RoStock Max V2 print

I hear your pain, but there is so much more to the calibration and "dialing in" than the paper test and the perfect center. I would hate PLA too, if it was getting stuck in the nozzle, but luckily it does not happen for me. If I had to guess, this is another calibration issue; things to lo...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie

No, I have not figured it out yet. Today I am back to looping and/or smashing the z-probe into the bed. When it worked, I had it calibrate to within 0.01mm at 288, but then it felt like it was off towards the center.

Hey HumanLiberty, It sounds like our issues are very similar, but yours is with FSRs and mine is with Zprobe. I am not sure what the best solution is, but as I have mentioned before, everyday I see something different. I did not have a problem, then I had a problem, and now it may have gone away, at...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie

As I have wrote this, reflashed and clicked "Check Heights" and then "Calibrate" it worked as expected. However, on a second, and many other consequent tries (even after reboting/resetting/reflashing everything) it goes into an endless "Resend 1 / OK" loop. Once in the ...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie

Yes that's what's happening. So how should the z-probing settings be set up? And where is onhigh located within the firmware and/or how do you switch it on the controller? I manually searched every tab in the repetier/Arduino firmware, but nothing popped. Z_PROBE_ON_HIGH is located on line 1078, he...

Re: PC Can't Connect to Printer - Mac can

Hey HumanLiberty, When switching from OpenDACT I have to either terminate it and also powercycle the printer. If a USB/COM port is not released on your Win10 computer, you will get access denied, and you'll have to reboot it. On my Win7 laptop, I've noticed that OpenDACT does not quit cleanly, and h...

Yes, HumanLiberty, and your'welcome. If you have not set up Arduino on your windows machine, you need to do so as per instructions in the user's guide. Of course, you do not have to upload the firmware if it is already running on your printer. You do not even have to run Arduino, the installation is...

Eric,
As long as you have installed Arduino drivers, both OpenDACT and Matterconrol should work, but both cannot be connected to the printer at the same time.

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie

It would work like that in a perfect world. However, geometry and other problems with bed will make a difference. When calibrated to 288mm the center area was not perfect, calibrating to 140mm diameter made the center acceptable. I believe that the algorithm just calibrates at the specified diameter...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie

Thanks magicmushroom666, that makes a lot of sense, but I just wasn't sure. After checking my bed with digital indicator, I know that that there are some second order deviations up and down. So, unless I am printing something really big, it would make sense to calibrate for a smaller radius, althoug...

Re: OpenDACT(Delta Automatic Calibration Tool) - For Repetie

I would appreciate if someone can confirm defaults. So, to get it working properly, I need to enter starting parameters: DiagonalRod = 290.8 and PlateDiameter 280? I know that 290.8 is the correct value, but I am not sure about plate diameter is it 280 or is it 310, or is it the diameter where I wan...
