Re: Hobbed Drive Roller Causing Rose Thorn Filament, Failed Prints
I'm just throwing out a guess here, but I'd say your hotend is not hot enough. Perhaps your thermistor is giving bad readings? Other place I'd look is to ensure that the filament path is clear and easy to move through from spool to print head. Any resistance is one more thing the EZstruder has to p...

Hobbed Drive Roller Causing Rose Thorn Filament, Failed Prints
Rostock Max v2. At seemingly random intervals I get this issue where the hobbed gear grinds into PLA filament and forms large burrs. The larger burrs then get stuck in the 4mm Quick Connect PTC Fitting connectors. Once this starts happening on a print it tends to recur, the burr gets stuck on one or ...

Re: Automation Technology Extruder Motor Current?
DGBK, you might want to download and flash the new firmware. I checked and it seems in the latest revision in github the currents are 140 for XYZ and 130 for E by default, with a different amount specified for wantai motors. It's a shame that I had to find out by complete coincidence, I only found o...

Automation Technology Extruder Motor Current?
Does anyone know the right motor current for Automation Technology stepper motors, at least for the E value? Rostock Max v2. Been having on-and-off airprinting issues due to PLA filament melting in the cold end(EZstruder), lumping and jamming up the EZstruder, heat and pressure squishing the filamen...

Re: Persistent Pause Print Failure/Belt Grinding + Layer Shi
Thank you for the reply teoman. I don't have any nail varnish available but I guess a bit of threadlocker is just as good(?) So after decreasing the travel speed to 200 and travel acceleration to 2000 the issue of huge layer shifts seems to be resolved. I reprinted no.3 and there was no obvious shif...

Re: Persistent Pause Print Failure/Belt Grinding + Layer Shi
Thank you for the question mhackney, no I don't have the AstroSyn dampers. I don't want to mess with the screws holding the stepper motors in place because I already threadlocked them and the screws/motors do not seem loose to the touch. They probably aren't perfectly aligned/squared to the vertical...

Re: Persistent Pause Print Failure/Belt Grinding + Layer Shi
Thank you for the reply mhackney. I will try the accelerations, although I have already lowered the acceleration from the default 1850 to 1600. Perhaps I should lower the travel acceleration, currently 3000, too, since that seems much more likely to cause the grinding. I have attempted to square the...

Re: Persistent Pause Print Failure/Belt Grinding + Layer Shi
magicmushroom666, Polygonhell, thedoble thank you for your replies. The grinding might actually be the steppers missing steps, this can sound like a belt grinding or similar. if it was actually grinding the belt there would be signs of it such as belt dust in the area of the stepper. Missing steps c...

Re: Persistent Pause Print Failure/Belt Grinding + Layer Shi
Thank you for the reply thedoble. So far I've kept the print speeds in the range of 30-45mm/s for Perimeters and Infill. Travel speed for non-printing moves is 300mm/s. I don't usually crank up the speed but one of the prints I did at around 50mm/s didn't have any layer shift, and that one had a jum...

Persistent Pause Print Failure/Belt Grinding + Layer Shift
Hello everyone. I would like to pick everyone's brains before trying to hit up customer support, as I have already filed a few tickets for previous problems and it seems a little demanding to file another. Using a recently assembled rostock max v2, assembled to the guidelines in the assembly manual ...

Re: Hello from the Austin area
Woah that's totally cool. Sendai-class is quite neat with their 5.5-inch guns and torpedoes/catapult. Chitose-class would be really a challenge to do their props right, I think the puppeteer planes would be quite hard to print right. I've tried 3d printing scale model propeller planes before but usu...

Christmas Cakes! Hahah she was my starter ship, but I've never seen a cosplay of her! I think it's really cool that you made the equipment and weapons.

Re: Hello from the Austin area
Oh I see, so either Samidare or Suzukaze! I was thinking it was a late-model since quad torp tubes but I see now that Asashio and Shiratsuyu classes had them too. CAD is somewhat new and time consuming for me so I would just use video game 3d assets(from ww2 naval simulator games), and fix the meshe...

Southeast-asian Salutations
Hello and nice to meet you. I looking forward to learning much on my time on this forum. I bought a Rostock Max v2 quite a while back last year but only recently have been getting into the swing of making. Please bear with my shortcomings and noobness.

Hello, cool guns and torp tubes. Looks awesome. A Kagerou/Yuugumo-class destroyer, I am guessing?
