Re: Trinamic 2130 on RAMBo?

In the end for various reasons I built a box to put the whole printer in, that's keeping it quiet enough for now.
And hopefully I can work on successful ABS printing as well now ( as I have 2 unopened rolls). Then onto PETG etc....

Re: Trinamic 2130 on RAMBo?

I'm running the HE280 which probes for calibration, so I think that's under control, I've also moved it to the later style of extruder and the generic 12v power supply rather than a PC based unit. Looking at the duet I see it has quiet drivers, it's either do that or build a 'clean box' for it to go...

Trinamic 2130 on RAMBo?

Hi, I have a Rostock Max V2 running a RAMBo of that vintage. In the house we've recently moved to the noise from the steppers is too much at night. Searching the web I've come across the Trinamic 2130 driver as a much quieter driver, obviously the RAMBo has drivers on it so is it possible to drive e...

Re: HE280 reading DEF after install on v2

Is this the revision with or without the thermal fuse? If it is check that and check that the circuit through the heater is not open circuit. Also check the resistances from the solder on the board in case of a dry join, the thermistor wires are so small that may be an issue. Also I ruined a board b...

Re: Rostock Max w/ He280 Simplify3D settings

I have recently also purchased Simplify3D recently, I'm running into the issue where it won't center the part if you use all the bed. i.e. I can print a part 280mm diameter but if I bring in a part that size the bed has to be set to be about 350mm diameter before it'll center the part on it. At the ...

5 to 10 layers is not long, can you heat the bad and the hot end and both get to and hold temp properly when not doing a print?
If not then look at the power supply, is my guess.

Re: He280 hotend nozzle

I recently did similar with a 0.7mm up from a 0.5mm (both stainless) the stick out is clearly more with the 0.7mm. I didn't know there was an instruction to limit the number of visible threads but that makes sense. On mine I ran into issues with the new nozzle, looking at the print and measuring the...

Re: PLA woes (stringing)

The minimum retract distance at 5mm means it'll have to print 5mm before it even attempts a retract, you can try making this distance much smaller 1mm or even less. Also I see no mention of Z lift about 5mm of that can snap the string before it gets dragged over the part. Also make sure there's no s...

Re: HE280 Keeps mysteriously clogging

I went through a similar crappy patch of clogging. I the end a new stainless nozzle fixed it I believe or was part of the solution at least. Another thing I did similar to the picture below, is wire the PTC connection so it can't move and shove the tube in as far as you can by hand, I think this hel...

Re: How to fix, is this Stringing?

To cut a long story short the retracts on my machine had become inafective due to slop in the bowden tube fittings, a cable tie as per the pic below fixed that. Also after a few months of running nearly 24 - 7 I found nearly all the screws holding the machine together were lose. And the spring apear...

Re: Intermittent Extruder Feed Issue (PLA to ABS switching the culprit?)

I'm currently having the same issue, I only use PLA though so I don't think that the problem. In my case the extruder seems to intermittently pushing the filament. Marking the filament with a sharpie then manually extruding 100mm I can see the filament start stop start again and so on, yet to figure...

Re: Car Body work (Full Size).

Yeah, print volume, I need all of it. I'm doing the other side of the front part now, some lessons learnt from the right side I think will speed the whole process up. The main thing is to keep the machine fed and not sitting there idle. At the moment its 100+ hours into what I think'll be about a 12...

Re: PEI Print Surface How To - recap

What I've struggled to find on the web is recommended bed temps for printing different materials on PEI.
For PLA I'm now running at 80c, for some reason I first tried at 45c and that was not enough.
Is there a guide to this somewhere or do you copy the glue on glass temps?

Re: Can't get level first layer/Convex bed

If the bed is Convex and symmetric about the middle then adjusting the Horizontal radius will compensate and make it be flat to the hot end. Dale That'd make it work in a practical sense, but the parts produced won't actually be flat, they'll be curved to the same degree the bed is and that curve w...

One method for getting the bed flat is to loosen off all the screws holding it down, then heat it up and whilst its still hot screw it down again.

Re: Skin separated from fill.

I've still not eradicated this issue. What I think is happening is the bowden tube is gradually being pushed out of the hot end. This then causes the plug issue and under extrusion. I've replaced the bowden tube and gave it some extra length to ensure its not getting tugged on. Also did the thing wi...

Re: Rostock Max V2 (upgraded to 3) with declining temperature issues

I had a similar issue, check the voltage from the supply and adjust it up, if its not at least 12.5v when the machine is idle. You might hear the base extractor fan speed change during the operation of the printer, this thing is driven straight off of the PS so its speed is dependent on the V from t...
