Re: .AMF Files
Ah thanks. I'll look into it, I normally use SolidWorks with imperial units as I am American.

.AMF Files
Now that SolidWorks has added more support for 3D printers and saving to an .AMF file I've been trying to get Repetier to load the file. However it never loads the model properly, always extremely small. You can barely see it on the print bed. Does anyone have any advice or know how to get AMF files...

Re: Extruder Melting
Sorry I'm not familiar enough with the motor specs to provide a good answer. There are really no good sides to running at higher amps as far as I know. All that really comes from it is more heat which can only cause problems.

Re: Extruder Melting
Unfortunately I don't have a thermocouple so I can't measure exactly but it is much too hot to touch, and is hot enough to melt the PLA filament against the extruder gear. I've ordered some small 40mm x 40mm heat sinks and fans that I plan to mount to all the steppers, hopefully it will help.

Re: Extruder Melting
Despite re-uploading the firmware the motors are still running extremely hot.

Re: Extruder Melting
I set the initial configuration for the Automation Technology Motors already. But I'll double check and re-upload the firmware.

Extruder Melting
I'm running a Rostock Max V2 using Repetier and the extrusion motor is getting so hot it is melting the filament. Is there anything that can be done about this, perhaps machining a heatsink with fan to cool the motor?

Re: Cura Not Generating Supports
No matter what overhang angle I use it refuses to generate the support material.

Cura Not Generating Supports
I'm using the Cura slicer within Repetier, however Cura refuses to generate overhangs for specific parts of a piece. Both over hangs are parallel to the print surface, but at different elevations. My current hypothesis is either the overhang is too small for Cura to generate support for, or because ...

Re: Repetier Not Recognizing Extruder
No, everything works fine with the Rostock. Repetier is failing to set the target temperature for the hot end. It can set the target for the heat bed, but the target hot end temp always remains at 0. EDIT: So it appears I can set the temperature manually using G-Code, so the issue must be somewhere ...

Repetier Not Recognizing Extruder
I'm using a Rostock Max V2 and just got Repetier up and running. When trying to print Repetier is unable to set the nozzle temperature, the bed temp is fine and I can see it set on the machine, however nozzle temperature remains at 0. Is there something I could be missing in the extruder settings?

Re: Repetier Setup
Funnily enough, I just got it working. I unplugged the printer, plugged back in and the issue was resolved automatically. I'm running Windows 10 Professional. Thanks for your response though!

Repetier Setup
I want to try out Repetier but am running into some issues. Is there a detailed guide for setting up Repetier with the Rostock Max V2? My main issue (so far) is when I try to connect to the printer it gives an error saying access to the com port is denied. I can't figure out what is causing it.
