Now with Mercury, shaky Venus moon and earth, need to rethink the Venus support. Not yet calculated, orbit speeds, need to mount the remaining planets first.

Re: Orrery - model of the solar system - update
Hi, I have redesigned the Earth Arm substantially and printed everything new on the Rostock Max V2 in ABS. I got it working today and have made a 16 sec video which can be found on https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=c5GV1Chl-50" onclick="window.open(this.href);return false; Now on to the othe...

tiny extruder steps on this stl - what am I doing wrong
Hi, just created this in 123D and tried to print it. The printer (rostock max v2) seems to be putting down tiny amounts of extruded plastic. I have checked my setup with previous prints and it prints fine. I have tried to change settings in the material menus, but nothing works. This is very strange...

ABS vs PLA (I know, old question but with a twist)
Hi I have been creating an orrery (planetary mechanised model) using gearotics motion to generate the gears, cnc milling machine to make the metal parts and now my lovely new Rostock Max V2 to print the parts I generate in 123D. I have been making the centre gears and had already printed them in PLA...

glueing PLA to ABS
Hi, I have created some PLA gears and have just printed some ABS hubs. What bonding can I use to join them. I have attached the stl of the two components but they are made of two different plastics, any ideas?

Re: Orrery - model of the solar system
Hi G, I am using Gearotic motion for the gear design, it is a fantastic program allowing you to change modules to line up shafts. I have exported the stls into 123D and manipulated them for printing.

Re: Orrery - model of the solar system
2015-08-11 22.04.04.jpg I have been experimenting with printing gears with the Rostock Max V2. I used 123D to import the gears I had designed and placed them over a spacer and then aligned the shaft holes. This was a very easy task. I then exported the STL to MatterControl and printed with supports...

Orrery - model of the solar system
2015-08-01 08.20.04.jpg Hi, I have just built the Rostock Max v2 and I am delighted with it. I have now completed the gearing for the Earth arm. This provides, rotation of the earth, rotation of the moon and changes the tilt of the Earth as it obits the sun. I have also made the mechanism. I have a...

Re: Rostock Max v2 Hardware Pack - Parts Labels
Hello everyone. I recently built my first Rostock Max v2 printer and had a blast doing it. One of the things that helped make my life easier when I first started sorting out the hardware kits was to create some sticky labels to put on the outside of each bag of screws, nuts, washers, etc. etc. iden...
