Re: Hotend cooling during filament change?

Well I got an answer that my hunch was correct and that I just need to copy T0 and rename that one to T1. Leaving it up in case anyone else has the same question.

Hotend cooling during filament change?

I'm trying to print the SeeMeCNC articulated bat, but when it switches to the second filament it throws an error because the hotend starts cooling off and then it stops extruding which is nice. Someone on the Facebook group said I need to edit the GCode manually for dual extrusion, which is fine, bu...

Considering a new J-head 12 highflow

I'm currently running a Prometheus v2 and I've liked it so far, but I'm looking at j-heads at hotends.com and they have a new all-metal that looks great. I've been wanting to try a J-head, but was just wondering if anyone has experience yet with the J-head 12 highflow. It's a bit pricey, but it soun...

Trying to calibrate after a Duet swap into my Metal Max. My height map is screwy.

I don't have a probe yet, so I'm doing the paper thing. I wanted to do FSRs, but I have the Tricklaser metal frame which is discontinued and I don't think I can get the adapters anymore, though maybe I can figure out a solution myself. Anyway, I noticed that my print's first layer was inconsistent a...

Did anyone figure out a good way to rig up a Prometheus v2 with a thermal fuse?

Looking for auto-leveling recommendations for my Metal Max

So I'm thinking about getting a Duet Wifi controller and MeanWell PSU upgrade for my Rostock Metal Max (v2 based). I find that I don't really need to re-calibrate, except when switching between materials which print at different temperature ranges, like PLA -> PETG or something. But it would make my...

Re: Contemplating selling my current printer to buy a Rostock Max v3.

Now that you mention it, I haven't had to recalibrate between ABS and PLA since swapping to the new frame except for adjusting my Z height. I was just thinking back to some dark calibration times a while back before I switched to the TL frame and those two features would have saved me sooooo much ti...

Re: Contemplating selling my current printer to buy a Rostock Max v3.

Thanks for all the replies so far! The selling points for me were that the entire build area is within the tower triangle (better geometry/less opportunity for printing outside the triangle), although I don't seem to have that issue anymore with a perfectly square metal frame, the hotend acceleromet...

Contemplating selling my current printer to buy a Rostock Max v3.

I'm leaning toward just keeping what I've got, a Metal Max with a bunch of TrickLaser upgrades and a Bondtech Mini hanging extruder, but I find the new kit very enticing with its accelerometer, improved heated bed, etc. And I really enjoy building - - plus it looks damn sex with its wider footprint ...

Re: I'd like to implement a redundant thermistor. Good idea or bad idea?

Are there any noticeable improvements to your prints, or what are the benefits? I was configuring 0.92.9 in the configuration tool, but got a little overwhelmed with not being sure about certain values. Then again, many said Eeprom would override them anyway.

Re: I'd like to implement a redundant thermistor. Good idea or bad idea?

So I found a minimum temp setting for the hot end thermistor that was set to 10 degrees, which is just below what my printer reports with a disconnected thermistor. I changed the value to 16 degree so that if the thermistor wire breaks again it'll catch it. I am thinking about configuring 0.92.x but...

Re: Bondtech Mini for hanging extruder?

Well it turns out that my existing mount works fine since it attaches at the stepper. I do need to reprint it in a more resilient material than PLA though. After so many hours of printing the mount has warped a bit and now I have to also use a few zip ties to hold it in place, and even then it's kin...

Re: Prometheus V2 adjustable layer fans?

I've considered that and that might be what I do, but I'm still learning to use Solidworks and I've got a full Summer semester course load so I was just asking in case there was already a solution, like perhaps an STL. If I do end up creating my own solution, which is probably what will end up happe...

Prometheus V2 adjustable layer fans?

So I've now got two Prometheus V2 hot ends with two different nozzles so that I can easily swap between them on my Metal Max. I installed my 0.4mm hotend earlier in place of the 0.6mm, and the 3 layer fans sit lower than the 0.4mm nozzle :? (the 0.4mm configuration has a smaller melt zone and the no...

I'd like to implement a redundant thermistor. Good idea or bad idea?

So last night I was heating up my hot end (Prometheus V2) for a print. I looked at my computer for a couple of minutes, turned around, and saw plastic (PLA) oozing out of my hot end like water. I immediately cut power and pointed the little table fan I have next to my printer at the hot end and turn...

Re: Bondtech Mini for hanging extruder?

I didn't realize it utilizes the old stepper. I'll try turning current down -- any minimum value I should avoid going below? Ive got the Kysan/AT steppers. But yeah, I wanted to see what people thought of the Mini as an upgrade for my hanging struder setup, too. I noticed they have a Wanhao kit for ...

Bondtech Mini for hanging extruder?

Hello, I've been having problems with my EzStruder -- mainly that my stepper keeps getting very hot. I was considering trying another stepper, but then someone recommended I consider a Bondtech Mini. So I'm just wondering what everyone thinks and if they have rival suggestions? I'm running a Prometh...

Good to know! Also, is there a reason that the FSR brackets are in 3 separate files? I can't tell any difference between them, but I don't want to assume. Lol I guess it doesn't really matter. Thanks again!
