It could be that the accelerometer is not working correctly. To figure that out use the G-Code terminal of Mattercontrol. Send a M261. The return values will be data about the accelerometer. From the code I can find there is no difference. The command from the LCD ends up sending A G29 to the gcode processor.

The thermister itself does not care about the polarity however the int line that shares the thermister wireing does. So it must by wired as specified in the instructions. Make sure you did it the way the instructions said.

I don't think any of G29 or callibration or probe code in the standard build applies to the E3D hot end the code is for the HE280 hot end.

That's great. Glad you finally figured it out. I don't know why except that the accelerometer must not get the desired acceleration from that combination of build plate. So it looks like the accererometer is working so it probably is not a problem. Other than Max Z height I running out of the usual causes. Default Max Z height on a normal V2 is 360 I think.

Ok, then it is most likely the accelerometer may not be working right. You can use the g-code terminal and M261 command to diagnose it. It is a common issue on this forum. It should not happen and is a sign that something is wrong. First thing may be that your belts are not tight. If the bed is Convex and symmetric about the middle then adjusting the Horizontal radius will compensate and make it be flat to the hot end.

If you can move the carriage manually with power off easily then there probably is no issue with bearings or something being too tight.
Maybe it is lack of power or intermittent power to the steppers or rambo board.

That sure sounds like belt slippage to me. The stepper gear is rotating but the belt is not moving and the stepper then makes that sound as it steps past the belt tooth. Yes you can set the Max Z height in EEPROM yourself and then print. That is what I do. However it may be better to set the probe height value instead to compensate. Then whenever you calibrate you may not need to go change the Max Z height.
