Rostock Max V2 and Orion both stop

Ok, I have no idea what's going on. (Link to live stream of issue happening at bottom) I'm using Simplify3d V3. One is printing PLA, one is printing ABS. Printing the same file on both, it appears they both stop at about 8 mm. The printer continues to go, but it stops extruding on both machines. Is ...

Support Material

When I use the grid support material, it is a very thick extrusion and very hard/nigh impossible to get off. I'm not seeing settings on setting the thickness for the support material. Is there a simple place to look for this? Thanks!

Power Off resets settings

I've got a couple questions if anyone can help. If I power the Rostock down and power it back on, the Z-stop is reset and way too high. I have to reset the Z stop and go through the calibration again. The Horizontal Radius also doesn't stay the same so I have to reset and go through the process of s...

Top Layer and Calibration Question

I have got the machine running and it's been printing ABS great. I have noticed if I power it off, I have to go through the whole calibration with the Tower Adjustments, my X Axis screw is as high up as it can go now. That's one weird issue, am I not saving something right? Missing the Top Layer on ...

Re: First Build frustrations grow

The wire looked pinched due to the tight fit. I stripped the wire and plugged it directly into Rambo and voila. Heading to pick up a fan now. My fan shroud appears to have a slight angle to it. Like gradually as it printed it shifted to the right. Could this be because the horizontal radius is off?

Re: Picking up Fan, LCD making clicking noise

If I flip the cables upside down the light flashes on an off, but it doesn't look like the orientation in the guide if I do it that way. A is going to A and B is going to B.

Picking up Fan, LCD making clicking noise

After testing continuity on the fan wires, I came to the conclusion that it must be the fan. I'm going to pick one up and was getting everything plugged back in and now the LCD doesn't show anything but makes a clicking noise where the LCD panel is. No light whatsoever. I reseated all the cables and...

Re: First Build frustrations grow

I have continuity between the wires, so I'm guessing it's a bad fan. Is this a fan I can pick up at RadioShack?

Re: First Build frustrations grow

I wouldn't tear the machine apart to troubleshoot a fan issue. First, did you mark the set of wires used for the peek section? if not then you could have them mixed up with the layer fan. Also, do what was mentioned above in regards to running a temporary set of wires just to make sure you don't ha...

First Build frustrations grow

It seems like if it's not one thing, it's another. I spent two hours calibrating the machine and printed the fan shroud and it came out brilliantly! Now, I've hooked up the fan shroud(my nozzle looks crooked which I imagine will be fun to calibrate) and now the fan isn't working. I understand the &q...

First Calibration Issue

I'm doing my first calibration on the end stops. The machine is stock pieces. I've set the Z home. When I go to the Z Tower first, the paper won't touch the nozzle, it's just above it. The instructions indicate to "lower the platform" or "raise the platform" which is insanely con...

Re: First Build Issue: End Stop Switches

Check to see if wire fell off or pulled out of crimp terminal on power switch. The LED you are seeing may be getting its power from the USB connection. The "good" indicator of power present is the RAMBo fan. If it is on then the power switch, power supply, and one fuse are all validated. ...

Re: First Build Issue: End Stop Switches

I would try that, but now it won't power on... Getting one orange blinking LED on the Rambo, but no sound or indication of power. Is this how all 3d printers are? I was hoping going up in quality I would avoid this sort of frustration.

Re: First Build Issue: End Stop Switches

What you could try is this - manually bring the hotend down near the build plate, then hit the home button, and trigger the endstop for a tower with your finger before the cheapskate actually gets there. Make sure the cheapskate for that same tower is the one that stops moving! Do it for all 3 towe...
