Re: Motor over heating
I would suggest that you check the manufacturer of the stepper motor. The power settings are very different and it can cause overheating. Those settings are in firmware but not eeprom, as far as I know. You have to get into your Repetier (or alternative) to access those command lines. I reduced the ...

Re: Custom control of Fan0 and Fan1 - How to???
Why don't you get the Rambo spec sheet and the wiring manual, and see what the power management system is. It is probably just an arduino pin issue that has a setting line in the firmware. The "fan" setting doesn't care what it's running.

Max V2 printer suddenly shuts down
I have had fails for a lot of reasons, but this one is different. It happens when a perfect print is running, and the printer goes completely power-down off with no LEDs, fans, and black LCD. Fuses are ok, filament running smooth, layers going on clean, and the matterhacker screen remains up, althou...

Re: New E3D V6 mount?
I would like to print this mount, but right now, my V2 is failing non-stop on printing multiple objects. The parts of the print that are farthest from the center start sliding and the print fouls. It's an adhesion issue that really fights me on small nozzle print setups. My solution has been to prin...

Re: How-to: Thermistor calibration
I find it easier just to set the thermistor type to 97, measure the actual vs reported temperature at say 220. If the thermistor is reporting high, increase the Beta value, if it's low decrease it, re download the firmware, rinse/repeat until it's close enough to call it accurate, I usually aim for...

The Beta value I'm using is 4725 which is what I ended up with by trial and error.
Did you make PID calibrations before you did this or after ?

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder
bvan, Thanks for your suggestion to tackle this as a hotend issue. Most people I have heard from have pointed in that direction, rather than the ezstruder, which worked fine until the conversion, and then it started grinding filament. Also, when I looked it over, I noticed that the red handle was ba...

Tom, temp setting: 220-225c Rambo controller (#301 in Repetier) thermistor setting # 8 (Semitec 104-gt2) in Repetier PS: My version of Arduino is 1.0.6, but the current SeeMe build manual mentions downloading Arduino ver 1.6.1. Is it possible that the versions have incompatibilities? How do you upda...

Re: Getting the most from your ezStruder
Gents, First, I blamed the ezstruder! I have unsuccessfully installed an E3D hot end on my otherwise stock Rostock Max2, and when it failed to extrude (ABS)(2" then full stop), I started messing around with anything I could think of, including tweaking the ezstruder (that was grinding filament)...

Re: E3D V6 Settings?
MAJOR HEATING PROBLEMS: recent change out from stock extruder to E3D v6. I have reinstalled the new hotend three times and corrected the firmware settings(Therm #8) and redone the PID settings, but it won't stay hot, and I am not certain that it ever reaches the setting temperatures, because the pri...

Re: MatterControl issues...
Well, when I first started trying to run test prints, MatterControl crashed every time I try to print a file that didn't come from its own library. The fan shrouds printed ok, but then I tried a few of the others (dog-tag, coffee cup) and they crashed. So I tried slr files from Thingaverse. They ALL...

stl export crashes printer every time
The documentation for moving a file from AD123D to the printer is pretty hit-or-miss. I'm confused. The default seems to be to launch the Meshmixer and invite a whole bunch of edits. For some reason, the design appears standing on end and resists re-dimensioning or reorienting to fit into the print ...

retraction?
I get a very high rate of fails at the very start of the print. The print starts but the ABS doesn't stick to the glue/glass. It starts out as a stream of ABS that slips and spins around and ends up in a wad on the tip. I have varied temps of bed and ABS and been pretty careful with the glue applica...

Re: Troubleshooting Forum - Please Read Before Posting
This was (and is) originally published in the "what's up with fans" thread. It seemed appropriate then. The machine is a completely stock Maxx, arduino/matermaker, and I'm slowly destroying the hot end as I rummage around in it. I test printed both fan shrouds in ABS successfully. Elmers w...

Re: What's all this hoopla about fans?
I test printed both fan shrouds in ABS successfully. Elmers white all-purpose glue stick provided excellent traction. Head temp was 228; bed temp 80. After I installed the peek fan and re-calibrated the temp control algorythm, I started trying to print files obtained from "Thingaverse". Ri...
