Re: Peeling Off the Glass
I even run my build plate at 100 deg C. Make sure to keep any breezes away from the build space also, I put a temporary screen around my printer when I'm printing anything larger than about 2x2 just to keep things from cooling too fast (that's what causes the curling)...

Re: PLA Woes
Is your trouble all on the first layer? If so, try making your Z distance shorter by 0.1 or 0.2mm in the EEPROM settings... I had a problem where it would extrude into open air just fine, but, the added pressure of the narrow gap on the first layer would put enough backpressure to cause skipped step...

Re: Problems with printer after "upgrading"
Great response, thanks... I tried re-routing my USB cable away from anything else and trying a different one. I haven't tried the same program that was giving me trouble before, but I have been printing test parts for a couple of hours with no sign of trouble... As for the hot end... I'm about ready...

Re: 3D Printed Enclosure Mounts
Are you going to do anything to heat the space above ambient or is this just something to keep the drafts away in your case?
Very very nice work by the way. You might have mentioned it, but, what material did you print the pieces out of?

Re: Problems with printer after "upgrading"
I've tried looking at the path on the screen and watching something else.. It doesn't seem to make a huge difference... It says I'm running the latest version of Repetier V0.90c I'll try screwing the parts together tighter, but, I'm worried that won't stop the plastic getting around the PTFE liner a...

Problems with printer after "upgrading"
I'm having 2 problems. They are not related, but it's frustrating... looking for any insight into either one of them... I tried upgrading to the new nozzle in my hot end and my PLA keeps oozing out around the nozzle. I've tried adjusting the length of the 2mm PTFE insert and I'm not sure I'm doing t...

New nozzle
So, I finally got my new hot end nozzle in the mail today (thank you guys) and I'm trying to figure out how to install it. I'm wondering if I need to get a different insert or modify the one I have. The new nozzle only measures 3.8mm and the insert it 4.0mm even. So, the small tube doesn't fit down ...

Re: Rostock serious business problems.
It's a kit, they tell you that you need soldering skills,it takes people that already built a 3d printer 12 hours top to make, You I am assuming are new so it is clear that you would need more time. I'd love to see someone build one of these in 12 hours... I didn't time my build, but, it was probab...

Re: Repetier for RostockMax and RAMBO
Yes, it's the firmware referenced above and the 0.83 version of Repetier http://www.repetier.com/download/ I didn't do anything special. I did have it working with the Marlin firmware already, but, it stopped working when I first switched over to the Repetier firmware until the latest changes... The...

Re: Repetier for RostockMax and RAMBO
For what it's worth I upgraded to the new version of Repetier (with the round build space) and the LCD enabled version of the firmware and all is well... I haven't had much time to print much, but, I did do a 3 hour print overnight last night with no issues...

Re: Communications Errors After Switching to Repetier Firmwa
The longest print I've made so far was about 9 hours with the Repetier firmware... I've never seen this error... interesting... maybe something with your computer? Do you have the LCD screen and SD card? Maybe try printing from the SD card and see if you get the same problem...

Re: Coolest thing I've made so far...
I'm getting ready for the 2 print head option... I've got a bunch of parts that need support lined up to print... I figure I'll start by printing PLA maybe just as a cheaper option to work out the bugs and then get some PVA... Anyone else try that yet? Have you thought about how the 2 heads go with ...

I am Soooooo much happier with this firmware... the motion is smoother and it lays out plastic more evenly... big improvement (IMHO)... I do have 2 comments: I get inconsistency on how it "homes"... I had to slow it WAY down from the setting that it was at when I downloaded... also, I don'...

Ok, I'm used to reflashing the firmware to change those kinds of settings... so, this is a welcome change, much easier to deal with... Re: Repetier for RostockMax and RAMBO
I flashed back the firmware that I was running and I'm seeing about the same difference between the thermistor and the TC that I'm using. So, for what it's worth it seems to be working just the same. So, that's good at least in the respect that my "calibration" for print temp doesn't need ...

Ok, I haven't printed anything yet but OMG is the motion smoother... I've been wondering why my machine used to shreak (about the best way to describe it).... Now it makes much smoother and more muted tones... it's sooooo much nicer to watch it move around... I'm tuning the PIDs on the temp control ...

Cool, glad it worked out for you. I'm very happy with how things are working out since I added my offset... I'm able to get the first layer on pretty large objects to stick much easier now...
