Re: 24V: The other way
I love my 24V upgrade (http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php?f=42&t=7303&start=125#p86387). Bed heats from room temp to 100 degrees in just under 3 min. Once at temp it is money stable with the SSR and calibration. Without a question a great upgrade. I do worry about fires? Yes!! Thus as m...

Agree, I used ferrule's when I upgraded RoStock V2 from a Rambo to a Duet. They are supper slick!
Also agree with Xenocrates...... A Duet is the way to go!!!

Re: Newbie From San Antonio Texas - Rostock Max V3 Upgrade Suggestions
Just to make sure I got this correct. Use a series of these thermal breakers which are placed in selected places in my printer (I.e. Bed, Meanwell, SSR, above the print head and etc). The current through the thermal breaks will engage the Form 2 relay with 12v from my 24V-to12V converter. The load s...

Re: Newbie From San Antonio Texas - Rostock Max V3 Upgrade Suggestions
25A contactor and thermal fuse on the bed: Especially if you intend to use a 24V power supply, adding a safety relay in case a MOSFET or the SSR fails on is only good sense. This brings it inline with the hotend, making this a very safe printer, as it should have no heating elements capable of ther...

I also use 5 gallon buckets with a sealed lid with desiccant. This has worked well for ABS and the few other types that I have on hand.
Here is the Lid I use which will snap onto any standard 5 gallon. Gamma Seal Lid - White (https://www.amazon.com/dp/B007KAY4S2/re ... kzbWVW9C8A)

I used the wire trick and it works well. Agree with using the ABS. Great idea.bvandiepenbos wrote:You can also slip a piece of wire inside tube to help it bend nicer without flattening or kinking as shown in this video...

Additionally with an optimized PID my SSR which runs my bed flickers as noted (http://forum.seemecnc.com/viewtopic.php ... 200#p87954). No problems with the SSR to date.

Re: Duet setup - instructions in progress
I found when I used Bang-Bang my bed temperature and fluctuations were huge. Since I optimized my PID settings the bed is money on and stable with the temp I set. Solved many of the above mentioned problems. Her is a link detailing what I did which was earlier in this Thread (http://forum.seemecnc.c...

I had to go back and look, and....... yes....... Eaglezsoar was the first one to reply to my Noob #1 post. :D His signature line which was light yellow, hardly readable and requiring me to focus (his intention?) on what he typed, says it all! "Do Not Regret Growing Older. It is a Privilege Deni...

Sad day indeed and blessings to his family and all his friends.
I always waited to read his reply or comment on a post which was always positive and encouraging.

Agree that using the Duet mad a huge difference and resulted in quieter stepper noise. My heat chamber also help a slight bit with noise.

I put the heat spreader under the glass and then used the 468 to adhear the PEI to the glass. I have had no issues with lifting of the PEI off the glass and am still in my original PEI sheet 18 months later.

Our cars also figured out how to work those handles. Round knobs will mess with your dogs and protect tools and electronics.

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
Awesome. the shield wipe is interesting...... I have never been able to get MC and MS to work since they do not allow selection of relative vs. absolute extrusion. How have you set this in MC/MS? I have found that a retraction of 8mm when at 205 degrees using ABS keep the ooze to almost nothing and ...

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
I added a 6mm retraction with each tool change which is better. However, not sure why yet (need to look at the g-code) but my green retracted back and unloaded.... thus the smoke stack did not print!!!??

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
After looking at this g.code again I do think that the noted retraction is appropriate. This because the next movements do not extrude.
I will still insert an additional retraction with a tool change and see what happens.

Re: Duet and Multi-Color/Multi-Filament Extrusion
I checked the g.code of the print (copied below) and you can see that here is no retraction when there is a tool/color change (Noted by the T1 command. Tonight I will reprint and suspect this will resolve most of the problems. Once retraction with a tool changes is working, the priming tower with on...
