That seems to be the general consensus that my cables are wrong. I took the LCD interface board off the Rambo and double checked that I believe I aligned the pins properly. Cables A and B appear to be oriented correctly as well. I removed them and replugged them on both the PCB and the LCD. This did...

All the positive posts about Rostock Max v2, not requiring much or any recalibration is very reassuring. I would think that moving the machine around from place to place could get it out of alignment. Any precision instrument is sensitive to moving.

Wow, I really appreciate all the great suggestions. Fan upgrades and don't use a cheapo soldering iron. Good point on being generous with the Kapton tape wrapping on the hot end assembly.
