Re: Rostock v2 - Bowden Extruder Upgrade
Every time I come back to the machine and it's failed, it just gummed up and spinning on the wheel. I then will check that i can freely and gently pull additional filament off the spool, to make sure I dont have an issues there. I then cut the filament right above the stepper motor, because I now kn...

Rostock v2 - Bowden Extruder Upgrade
I am looking to upgrade the extruder setup on my v2. I am talking about the spring tensioned knurled gear portion of the extruder. The stepper motor is all fine. I keep having issues with filament getting stuck, and I never really liked the setup anyway. The issues always occur when I'm not watching...

Re: Bed constantly heats up - won't turn off.
@geneb I'm upgrading now to a dedicated power supply unit, like a proper one. Not the old ATX PSU version that I had. For power leading to the RAMBo connector for the bed heat, the old install used 4 yellow and 4 black wires from my computer PSU. Can I assume that this was due to the current limitat...

Re: Bed constantly heats up - won't turn off.
Confirmed wiring issue.
Apparently I had attempted to piggy back power off of that line, thinking it was a fresh line from the PSU (old computer PSU style machine).
Thanks again!

Re: Bed constantly heats up - won't turn off.
I did a fresh EPROM swipe and new firmware Repetier install on the RAMBo and it is still constant. In fact, it was still heating all throughout the wipe and install process, when the board was technically not functioning for that period of time. Thanks for the info on the ground issue, that makes se...

Bed constantly heats up - won't turn off.
So my v2 was in storage for 4 years, and I just took it out. I put on some upgraded arms and plugged it back in and was ready to recalibrate it. However, the bed heater won't turn off. The second you flip the power switch the bed heat turns on, the red LED turns on, and the bed just rises in temp. I...

Old manual (looking for)
Looking for a assembly guide for the Rostock Max v2 circa 12/2014. I checked all the links provided in previous posts are 404 file not found. I have the user manual, just can't find a copy of the assembly manual. Please and thank you. EDIT: I found the manual version 1.67 on a thumb drive laying ar...

Re: NASA Wrench
Yes, it has internal parts that I had to fiddle with for it to work. I could see around layer 10 my edges on the internal parts started to curve, so I didn't expect it to work at all. I was able to use my Xacto knife the cut the stuck parts without damaging the unit. I then just put an adjustable wr...

CAD files for part replacments?
I was just wondering if there is access to the CAD files for the CNC'ing of the MDF parts?
I want to replace some parts with different colors, and I have a CNC machine that can cut them.
Just don't want to re-invent the wheel if I don't have to.
Thanks!

NASA Wrench
Don't know if anyone saw that NASA released their STL file for the wrench they printed in space.
Printed one a few nights ago.
A really neat thing to print, and fully functional too!

Haha. I have 3 names picked out for if I ever have a daughter.
That doesn't look like it's gonna happen anytime soon, so......name the printer Sofia instead!

Sofia, my Rocstock v2 - Orange County, NY
Hey all. My names Chris, and I'm a proud owner of a brand new Rocstock v2. Just got Sofia up and running, and I'm thrilled! 16 hours to build, 4 to calibrate and test. So far so good, I have a lot of questions and idea's which I'll be sure to post in the forums. All in all, very happy so far. Will b...
