Re: Filament making
That makes sense. I had wondered about that as well. It also makes me wonder about the do-it-yourself filament makers out there (Filabot, Strooder, etc.). Those systems are much smaller and simpler than the one shown in the video.

Re: A Tale of Two Problems
Have you adjusted for virtual bed shape? Once you have adjusted the endstop switches so that the z-zero height is similar near all three tower locations, if you find the z-zero height at the center of the bed is too high or too low, adjust the EEPROM "Horizontal Radius" setting. This value...

Re: Rostock MAX v2 questions
Thanks for the replys guys. where can I get the longer belts? would I just figure the added length x2, or would I need to figure in compensation for the loop over the top as well? http://seemecnc.com/collections/parts-accesories/products/gt2-timing-belt" onclick="window.open(this.href);re...

Re: Rostock MAX v2 questions
1.b Can you run multiple printers off of a single computer? TIA 1.b I would assume it is possible, but you'd probably need multiple 'mattercontrol' or 'repetier host' programs running which seems like it should work. I have two printers (an Orion and a Rostock Max v2) connected simultaneously to my...

Re: Ver 1.2.2
I'm still using MatterControl version 1.2 on Windows 7, and it does not require me to be connected to a printer in order to load the queue or save/edit to an SDcard. Am I to understand that this changed in version 1.2.2, and that the newer version now requires it? And in addition the multi-view full...

Re: Considering the Rostock Max V2
With the exception of a power supply upgrade, my v2 is completely stock, and I've been having a blast with it! You can see from some of my other posts that the print quality can look great right out of the box. :) Personally, I opted against installing the dampers. I kind of like the "50's comp...

Congrats! You can't get more positive feedback than that! Well done! :) The guy on the video mentioned that you are sharing the files. Could I get a copy of those? I'd love to try my hand at printing one. I'm sure it would help me to dial-in the calibration on my two printers that much closer to you...

One thing I would like to see is a print status statistic on the screen. Our other printers have a simple % shown to indicate how far along the print is. It's nice to be able to glance at the screen to get a good idea of where you are. Hi Dan! :) If you print from the SDcard then the % complete doe...

Re: Rostock MAX v2 Done!
I had similar issues with the Diablotek600 that came with my Rostock Max v2. I replaced it with an Antec HCG-620M and all of the issues vanished. It works great now. I opted for the 620M mainly because it's relatively small (it easily fit through the access hole at the bottom of the Rostock), it's p...

I have a lot of HATCHBOX and have been happy with it thus far. I've been printing mostly PLA, but the ABS seems to print well, too. I'd be interested to see how you rate it against other brands.

Re: Rostock Max Hollow Calibration Pyramid Challenge!
Here's my first attempt. Using translucent blue PLA filament at 202C and sliced with MatterSlice default settings printing at full speed. Result is some very thin stringing between some of the poles and a sharp point at the top, but otherwise it looks pretty good. I may try another with the heat tur...

Thanks lightninjay! Prelude in G is one of my favorite Cello pieces as well, and It's easily the best of the three songs I posted. I know this has probably been done a million times before, but I decided to stay up late last night and wrote a command-line tool to create g-code music files for delta 3D printers. Right now it's limited to converting single-voice song strings into z-movement g-code. I may try to add midi file conv...

Second, later in the planning, it notes that the preset for the extruder temp on PLA is 190C, so I set the nozzle at that temp and then attempted to run the stepper. But I did not get any noises whatsoever from it, no movement or anything. Help me? You might also want to verify that you plugged the...
