Re: Reducing Peek Fan Speed
If you are using the EEPROM, then the values in Configuration.h will be used as default when the EEPROM is cleared with "M502", "M500". In the EEPROM Extr.1 xxx is the same as EXT0_xxx in the code. Did you change the EEPROM value in Repetier-Host? That should work, or you can use...

Re: Reducing Peek Fan Speed
In Configuration.h I believe the right setting is EXT0_EXTRUDER_COOLER_SPEED. 255 is full, 0 is off.

Re: Octoprint and Repetier-Server for Raspberry Pi?
Is there any benefit to switching the rate in the LCD back and forth between 115200 and 250000 whenever I switch between R-H and R-S? Thanks again for all the help troubleshooting this. Glad you got it working. In my experience the RAMBo will run out of processing power even at 115200. So the 25000...

Re: Octoprint and Repetier-Server for Raspberry Pi?
Also, if LCD and Rambo have to match how have I been able to print from SD and Repetier-Host for the past year? The LCD is controlled by the RAMBo. You probably have Repetier-Host set to 250000, this is what needs to match what is shown on the LCD. Now that your LCD shows 115200 if you plug back in...

Re: Octoprint and Repetier-Server for Raspberry Pi?
The bps rate on the LCD/RAMBo must match. Even though it's USB it's really just RS232 over USB.

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet
If all the midpoints between all towers are high or low, rotation is likely not your issue (I think that's play). In my experience this problem is the arm length, and play in the joints would certainly change the effective arm length. My stock arms had a lot of play, so much so that I asked SeeMeCN...

Re: Octoprint and Repetier-Server for Raspberry Pi?
Thanks. I followed the install.txt from git-hub. Install was on a freshly flashed SD card with Wheezy (2014-09-09) and all files pulled/compiled through the terminal window. Also, not sure where it loads them to, but it just let me load a gcode file through the server. Still no function though. By ...

Re: Octoprint and Repetier-Server for Raspberry Pi?
I have attached my config. Note that I have a direct serial connection ("/dev/ttyAMA0") instead of using USB. 250000 bps does not work with Repetier-Server and Linux. In the docs it mentions that it works in Windows only IIRC, but I found it's not necessary as the RAMBo can't really handle...

Re: Mike's Birch V2
I should clarify that cold ambient temps (when not printing) would cause the mount to slip, and then when it's warmed up it will bind, greatly increasing the force required to trip the sensor and thereby ruining the repeatability. Lowering the z hop had a great effect on stringing for me when printi...

Re: Mike's Birch V2
I don't know the options for Simplify3D, but I found a z hop setting over 0.1mm causes stringing. About my FSR mounts, I haven't had a chance to update the drawing. The change is to the puck part, once the O.D. and center hole are machined, I offset the 4-jaw by 0.5mm to make one side smaller. This ...

Re: PID Auto-tune while extruding.
The PID needs to be stable under all conditions, even when not extruding. You don't want the temperature to oscillate when you're printing slow or something. On the other hand the PID autotune is very conservative. I have found that you can at least double the values it comes up with for the P and I...

Re: Unsolved Mystery. Weird Z0 behavior around build perimet
I'm not sure if this was mentioned before, but this is what I found when I replaced my arms with ones I built myself. If the print is too thin (too low) near the towers but not between the towers, the arm length needs to be increased. I had about a 0.15mm thickness variance that I eliminated by leng...

Re: Problem with PLA and/or EZStruder
In my experience PLA is harder than ABS. I had problems with the EZ-Struder slipping and grinding out the filamant. I found that higher temps certainly helped a bit. But what seemed to work the best was a 2mm shim I put under the EZ-Struder spring. This allowed the hobbed gear to bite into the filam...

Re: hot bed rambo connector melt
Ideally it would have a ferrule crimped onto it. The problem with tinning with solder is that the connection will loosen over time. You could use wire that is tinned from the factory. The amount of solder on the wire is very minimal, just enough to keep it from oxidizing. With bare copper wire, what...

Re: Octoprint and Repetier-Server for Raspberry Pi?
I've used both, and I've done some coding for OctoPrint as well. The master branch of OctoPrint is quite slow on the Pi and on any radiuses (many, short moves) the printer will stutter/blob because the buffer underflows. Some of my coding changes are being considered in the commRefactoring branch wh...

Re: Print freezes half way, stepper motors then suddenly spe
At least on my LCD, the reset button was somewhat broken. I had to push quite hard to make it work, I think it went through the board wash without being sealed. I replaced the microswitch and it's all good now. When your printer freezes, is the LCD responsive? What version of firmware are you using,...
