Re: Fly Reel Printed in Metal
Yes, most are investment cast but this is steel powder infused with binder then brazed/filled with bronze.

I assure you, it is certainly really metal printing. They explicitly tell you exactly the process when you go to order.

Re: No more bowden tube (or so I hope).
Love Barrybot mod, Been using it for few months now and the results are great. I didn't want to spend the 200 USD he was asking for his piece, when I wasn't sure it would be compatible with my fan holders. This is my own ABS adapter for an ezstruder. I'll share if anyone with a berrybot effector ne...

Re: No more bowden tube (or so I hope).
The print speed I use I this printer is already low. This is due to 0.9 degree steppers, only a 12v power supply, and attempting to reduce ringing to a minimum.
The motor and gearbox only weigh about 200g. The adapter is like 20g. The stepper is a nema11 from one stepper and the gearbox is 5:1.

No more bowden tube (or so I hope).
Wish me luck. I'll wire it up tomorrow, and drill the hobbed bolt by hand. Dunno if the stepper will work, but I've got a bigger one if need be (same form factor, longer body).

Re: DUET and DUE PANEL
The best part for the duet, for me, is being able to print models with so many polygons that you can no longer see their edges... completely smooth. Most other boards, even 32 bit ones, would stumble on this.

Re: Trick Laser MAX METAL Build
I think one improvement that could be made to the max metal would be to expand the horizontal distance between towers so that the "triangle" is completely within the 280mm build volume. In my experience, this has been the largest factor in making it easy to get full use of the entire print...

I'm totally the same way. Although, my gf is supportive. In fact, it's her that is blazing the trail in getting s resin printer. We're going to stay with additive a bit more so we can grow into making metal chips.

How much finishing/polishing did you do on the prints pre casting? how much polishing and buffing did the bronze (brass?) require?

Re: Extrusion Flowrate Adjustment Malfunction
Which slicer are you using? I've had something similar, and I believe it is related to the extrusion distances being in relative or absolute mode. I can't remember which causes the behavior, but I want to say that using absolute extrusion will prevent this problem, while using relative extrusion wil...

Re: Any new beds for me to consider?
You could run 24v for everything. Better performance from the motors that way.
The 12v onyx is good enough for me, with a bunch of cork underneath to insulate and an aluminum heat spreader.

Re: Incorrect dimensions on printed objects
My only other delta is a custom frame with berry bot parts. I would never mix prints from it and the rostock max... it would be too plainly obvious which was from which printer. Prints that reach near the extremities of the build plate on the rostock max can be off by as much as 1mm or more. My othe...

Re: Incorrect dimensions on printed objects
My main gripe is the difference in thin wall thickness depending on where on the buildplate it is situated. I find this is due to the direction the path is laid in. The arms seem to follow different paths when they move in opposite directions. (ie clockwise vs counter clockwise, when drawing a hollo...

Re: Incorrect dimensions on printed objects
I highly doubt that a finely tuned Taz printer has "the exact same issues" as a stock Rostock max. It's been a long time since you ran a stock rostock, hasn't it michael? Mine is still mostly stock: arms, carriages, etc etc. I can say with absolute certainty that even my other delta is far...

Re: Incorrect dimensions on printed objects
While there are definitely limitations in the slicers, and in the math when dealing with faceted curves... the Rostock max is also not the greatest printer at holding tolerances. You should definitely not expect to hold a 0.05mm tolerance. The "thin walls being thick by .3mm" is something ...

How tight are your belts? I've seen patterns like that on deltas, and it always leads me to belt tension. This is where deltas will experience backlash as the tower changes direction at that point.

Re: 0.25 mm nozzle extrusion problems / pressure build-up
I did print a semi-flexible TPU, which is much stiffer than ninjaflex, through the 2.0 without issue on my Rostock max. I doubt the added firction of the 1.8mm tube would have helped with the flexible filaments. To remove the play in your bowden tube, you should wrap a solid-core wire or print a sma...
