Re: My custom v-slot RepRap 3DR delta printer...the V3DR.
What's your current cost estimate? I know on my machine builds, after you've got motors, a controller, a hot-end, LCD screen, an extruder, etc it adds up quickly. My goal (and I don't consider this a success unless I hit this) is under $500+shipping complete with quality parts. That would include t...

Gcode Mod to invert arms to print more Z
Hi everyone, I am inquiring if anyone has tried this.. at some point in a print have the gcode pause a few mm higher than the print then begin to invert each arm then resume printing from paused location then pause at the end of print so you can cool and remove part and manually realign the arms to ...

Re: Will the real owners of E3D and Prometheus please stand
I think it would depend on your Nozzel size - bigger tends to not jam as much. I have used both hotends - well specifically I've combined e3D's Volcano heating blocks and nozzels with their Kraken! I'm loving the speed for bigger prints. I have .4 and 1.2 mm E3D nozzels and a .3mm nozzle for Prometh...

Re: Dual extruders
Hi Guys, just successfully duel printed with my Kraken! No issues, well except for length of retraction I still have to adjust - I have volcano kraken hybrid! With the default calibration block in MatterControl it would normally take 35 min with the standard setting with a .3mm nozzle and the Volcan...

Re: Kraken thread
Here are a couple examples of what I'm working on to get the Kraken working in a smaller, compact effector with common features such as fan shroud and LED built in. Bungie cables have been added, these ones in particular can be latched on easily and adjusted on the fly. Please excuse the poor image ...

Hey cool! I am working on an effector but plan to mill it in aluminum. Cheers, Michael Did you manage to create/mill your Aluminum effector? I have a design/Stl that reclaims the full Z space using magnetic arms with space underneath for the Halo LED light and a fan shroud built right into the effe...

Re: Kraken thread
I was thinking of a direct drive system as well and what I concluded might have to happen - if I were to do this is to mount either surgical rubber hose or a spring inside the cable management hose with just enough tension to lift the weight upward to the Rostock ceiling (perhaps just to lift the ca...

If the belt isn't trim enough it can get caught when the print rises quickly and if the belt isn't tight enough it can slip. If the print surface wasn't layered smooth enough with fresh glue..sometimes too much glue can offset a lump in the layers printed and end up making plastic balls/lint that th...

Re: Print freezes half way, stepper motors then suddenly spe
Is there another computer you could use to try loading firmware? The problem seems to most likely be a defect in the Rambo, but it wouldn't hurt to eliminate the computer as the cause. I just caught something last night after "more frequent breaks" of ABS being fed into the Ezstruder (mot...

Re: Print freezes half way, stepper motors then suddenly spe
I would try clearing the eeprom data and installing the .91 repetier software found on the seemecnc github. Thanks Eaglezsoar, this is what I've been running since first firmware upload/install. I'm using the Rostock Max Rev 7 which uses a Rambo V3. The power supply is a nice 600 Watts . Since the ...

Today I tried a different slicer (CuraEngine) and everything was going very well -THEN.. approximately 30 minutes into the print it froze.. I am starting to think it might be a hardware problem.. Re: Print freezes half way, stepper motors then suddenly spe
Ok tested it: SD card does not make a difference. I'm thinking maybe it's Slic3r I'm currently using V 1.1.7 that was bundled with Repetier-Host.. I'm going to try the separate Slic3r program.. my os & hardware is 64 bit as well.. not too sure if that makes a difference except for slicing speed ...

Re: Print freezes half way, stepper motors then suddenly spe
The reset button DOES work, but because of how the little arm of plastic moves, you need to press pretty firmly for it to actually actuate the switch. g. Yes the reset does work but not when this freeze/error occurs. I am using a gaming laptop Asus G75V, able to run Maya 2014, Oculus Rift etc it's ...

Print freezes half way, stepper motors then suddenly speeds
Anyone know what's causing this? The printer suddenly stops 30+ minutes into the print..stepper motors spin quickly.. I press reset on the LCD nothing happens.. I push emergency stop in Repetier-Host and then it stops. The print job is basically destroyed.. the hot end melts the print adding a plast...

Re: Printer Stoped Dead - RAMBo Board Died?
Same thing happened here, blown the fuse and switched places on the board to test them. This is because of the wires dangling. A good reminder in the manual would be helpful but then again if we had the fan shrouds in the first place this wouldn't be an issue either. I also melted the peek area not ...

Re: Assembly manual discussion thread!
Had a few issues so far that slowed me down quite a bit. 1. The manual has so much to read through and much filtering through revisions. I believe It would be best if the manual was split into each revision. - also the current manual does not provide a revision for Rev7 that I bought. My electrical ...

Re: Auto Model Scale Algorithm To Counter Filament Shrinkage
Shrinkage itself isn't a big deal. What it results in can be, shrinkage of hot plastic deposited on cooler plastic can cause warping of the model which gets worse as models get bigger. You cannot counter this with software. The other people people blame on shrinkage is holes coming out undersized, ...

Auto Model Scale Algorithm To Counter Filament Shrinkage
Just like the subject implies, it would be great to integrate Automatic scaling algorithms based on a filament's known shrinking values to get a more precise printing/engineering match. Currently I am waiting for my printer to be shipped then built.. I have no experience printing and don't know if t...
